He is really, really, starting to piss me off, everywhere I am there is some link to a radio interview where Ed is **** talking.

He's far more up his own arse than the people he is talking about. Being number 1 or commercially successful means **** all.

McDonalds is one of the top food brands in the world, it ain't for quality.

The fact that he's openly proud of not being unique or creative is laughable. And like you guys say, he has to take this position really because he couldn't push boundaries if he tried.

I don't think he means that artists shouldn't fight for creative control, he's just saying that artists should also listen to people who know what they're talking about as well. He's not saying throw it all out the window and be a puppet, it's more about striking a balance

I can almost see what he's saying but then he ruins it. I don't think an artist should be surrounded by "yes" people, but he's saying this with the intent of selling records, rather than making a great piece of work with any creative, personal or artistic goal.

Everyone views him as such a relatable and "normal" guy but he has gone down so far in my estimation during this era. He's really just the epitome of why commercial music is gradually becoming less interesting. And it's a shame because he is talented.
