imo MR is never truly going to pick up on radio or streaming... at least not anytime soon. at the rate it's going, its not gonna be a true radio/streaming smash until August 2017... :toofunny:

she got a great peak position, but its time to move on tbh. i say she should release AYo, JW, or DIC before she moves on to  really focusing on the tour and ASIB (which will be soon)

MR just got put on power rotation (aka hourly plays) on a handful of stations across the US including Z100 (#1 station in the country) beginning tomorrow, is still Top 10 on iTunes, sales are very stable and streaming has been relatively stable the past couple days.

MR is very clearly still going strong. It would be silly of her and honestly quite stupid to move on now, and sabotage her only shot at a radio hit this era.

I get that the MR era has lasted forever but if you want to secure a hit this era and possibly get a radio hit then we're gonna have to sit back and deal with it as a single for another month and a half or two.

But i don't get it. The "success" you're talking about must be only within the US because here in Europe nobody even knows about the damn song. She used to have international smash singles, now we're praising a song just because it's "starting to pick up" locally?

I really don't think MR is a success but it is doing well compared to her last few singles i guess

Z100 often picks up songs first, before they really take off on radio. Other stations, including KIIS, follow Z100's lead. This means we can expect many more stations to pick up the song soon, and it should stay relatively stable for a while.

well, I live near yuma in CA and i was in my car and the station I was listening to started playing ''paris'' by the chainsmokers:gaysia: and i was so over it and i was complaining in my mind why they don't play million reasons and suddenly after paris… THEY PLAYED MILLION REASONS, i was shook and so happy. It was the first time i heard million reasons on the radio. :hor:

girl you can't be serious :awkney:

i will admit I didnt see how much it got added to radio today and my post was made before that, but that doesn't change the fact that the streaming numbers have never been strong for MR and that's what we NEED if we want MR to even have a chance of going back into the top ten.

Yes it has been doing very well with digital sales, but it also was in October when she did Carpool Karaoke, yet it still didn't crack the top 50. digital sales do not rule the industry anymore, unfortunately.  Hopefully it can truly leave it's mark on radio and that in turn can help it become more of a presence on streaming, but I still stand by what I said.

Million Reasons already got its peak so I think it would be best to switch to a brand new song that would be easier for radio and streaming to pick up on especially after her Super Bowl slayage is still fresh on people's minds. (unless if these radio updates can change the streaming stats and improve its chart position, then I agree, she should keep it). But I don't see why y'all are so against Gaga possibly having 2 top ten hits from this era instead of only one... the same one she's been pushing since last October:saladga:

MR is also selling very well in Canada even when it has a total of 0 radio audience lol. And all the Americas have been supportive of Joanne so I would say that counts as international. Europe isn't the only international market. I'm not familiar myself with how Joanne has fared in Europe and elsewhere in the world, but I agree that the singles from Joanne have underperformed internationally.

But the album has sold very well internationally, even if you say it's "local". If that's the case, then it's "local" to all the Americas which sure is international enough in my eyes.

Obviously though, I would prefer her to do as well all over the world as she has done in the past. I think her tour receipts prove that she still has a market in Europe, they just don't want to actually go out and buy her music. Or don't know she has new music.  :neyde:

They prefer to spend that money on seeing her live I guess, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. More money for Gagz tour receipts :whitney:

The Fame Joanne

It's not doing good on the radio. Didn't CTTR have a bigger audiance in a few weeks than MR after five months?

But CTTR is an extremely radio-oriented lead single.

MR is not radio-friendly at all, and came as a second single after a lead single that didn't take off.

But either way it looks like MR is getting a +1 million update on radio today, and that's without all these stations which just put it into power rotation. I don't think it's done growing yet.

That's because of Katy's "deals" with radio and spotify. Gaga didn't do any deals with MR. She did with PI but only for the first day, I believe.

Yes but if it was successful, the gap wouldn't be that large
