great visuals tbh.. she's always delivering eye-pleasing colorful videos with cute story.. happy that the visuals is amazing but kinda sad that i see no growth on her as an artist.. i mean, we've seen all of these for 3 eras in a row..

but then again, when will MR??

The fact that some monsters hate her but still watch her videos before her actual fans is so funny.:toofunny:

The look she gives at the end of it was the best part imo

Yes, I also do love partying in moving houses as seen in that one Bacardi tv ad.

Very middle of the road. Trying to make a social commentary but still being as accessible and colourful as she can to retain her pop audience. I find that both smart and really dumb.

Better than all the videos of her last era except Unconditionally. I like it, but it could have been so much better, maybe they didn't let her.

It's a nice video . But it feels like we've seen the same thing over and over from her. And she's trying hard to pass this mediocre song as some kind of political statement.  Not bad overall but she can't keep doing the same thing for so long.

F-ck off haters, this is an amazing video. Good comment on society today, while still fun to watch. The only thing I didn't like was Marley's part. Took away the meaning just for the feature to be on screen.

But still, I LOVE IT.
Gaga, Lana, Katy, this is a video heaven right there

Where is the message like "we have to stop living in a bubble, or we have to stop bound to something (rhythm)" its just all about colorful playground and people actually having fun with it.

This is sort of my problem with the whole concept of this single. She's trying to make a song about how "woke" we need to be, that we're all distracted not to notice what's going on. Yet she does it under the guise of a bubblegum pop song that sonically isn't very different to her previous music, and the visuals of this are extremely colourful and fun. It's totally feasible that this "message" could go right over the heads of her younger audience, or even adults who just aren't properly clued into the lyrics.

I feel she's trying to come across as political but is too afraid of losing her commercial appeal. The results, to me, is like social commentary for Nickeldeon.

I mean there is blatant references to the dangers of this 'utopia'. From the 'American Dream Drop' being a reference to the housing crash,  Katy hurting herself on the thorn of the rose, to the 'Bombs Away' ride being a reference to nuclear war, to the rollercoaster of love with facebook likes, loves and laugh reactions (a reference to people searching for approval on social media) to everyone lining up to take a 'ride' on the hamster wheel (that's often used to describe people in a dead-end job with an unfulfilling life).

The video is like the music. CTTR is a light, bubblegum pop song with a political undercurrent and the video is a light, fun colourful music video with the same references.  People have their rose-coloured glasses on, they are distracting themselves, they are living in a bubble and they believe they live in this utopia when really behind everything, when you take a closer look, it's far closer to a dystopia.

Not a fan of the video though tbh, it just doesn't seem super interesting in the way it's shot and at times it feels a little clichèd. Fan of the retro-futuristic look though, been wanting a popstar to capitalize on that aesthetic for a long time.
