The same way that Radios won't play for Free, Spotify can put songs in a million of playlists while "Paying" and that's the w. Katy's team made a deal with Spotify to promote not only her single but upcoming album and tour and showcase the power of stream. Before this, they had a deal with Apple Music for "Rise". Beyoncé & Kanye West have their exclusive deal with Tidal... Sometimes we (as fans) moan about the streaming exclusived but they're somehow a way of getting "promote" by these platforms Spoiler we cannot close our eyes and pretend it's not a thing that these streams platforms end up lying and "influencing" the charts, whatever -- Wanna know what would be cool? Release something like "ACT 2" for free in a platform like Spotify\Apple Music just to boost the "confidence" between her team+stream platform.
