There is something ironic about a group of Westerners lecturing a gay kid who lives in a predominantly Muslim country about intolerance.

Again I'm a gay Muslim who lived for a lot of my life in the Middle East. He never responded. People on here have also shared their perspectives living in a Muslim majority country. Its not just westerners lecturing others

Middle East has very long and rich history, they had some of the oldest libraries, universities etc and it's in bad shape rn because of all the wars and bombing and many Western nations are involved, which you don't want to mention.

Let me tell you something, Russia and many countries in Eastern Europe are also generally very homophobic, sexist, wife beating/wife belongs to kitchen/"man is the boss" attitude etc and they think West is trash and they hate America, plus they are all Christians nations hence we should ban Christians from entering the US, right?? No. Because people are individuals. 

If you never lived amongst them, you have no right to talk.

Not to mention, Trump wants to give priority to Middle Eastern Christians (even tho some were sent back because of this ban) but their views and lifestyle is not very "Western", they still follow own culture.

And I'm sure you know that it's not just the middle east that these conditions exist/persist.

The world sucks. 

But America is at least the promise to try to make democracy work, every day.

My comment was obviously directed at the majority of people responding to him in this thread who are not from the Middle East, not the minority who are.
