Are celebs ruining their reputations with protests

The thing is, is that they're letting their anger be known. They're letting our anger be known.

Honestly, movements need people. Very few people can rise up from nowhere and just lead the people.

They may temporarily ruin their careers, but what point is their careers worth more than, I don't know, saying living in a nuclear wasteland?

Though let's be honest here.

Shia Lebaouf didn't have much of career in front of a camera since he left Disney. I think he has acted in like a few movies and did a few bit parts? But honestly, I didn't remember his existence until he hit headlines. If I remember correctly, he prefers being behind the camera now.

Madonna is Madonna. She lives to spite existence itself. She will keep making music even when she is an aging eldritch husk.

Madonna is so big that even some ggd little trumpsters are bothered by her.

Just because I find rude and unnecessary behavior repulsive, I am automatically a Trump supporter?

Please correct me if I make any grammar mistakes, I want to master English as much as possible.

If you are childish and rude like Madonna, then yes. If you are kind and respectful like plenty of other celebs then no. You can protest peacefully with out stupid remarks

Well, you never specified, so I think my question was rational.

Sorry anyways.

Was Madonna ever a good girl? :toofunny:

Honestly, I know that  Madonna isn't mature at all, but for the first time I supported her at all.

they'll be okay. Later down the road, people will appreciate them for their activism. This situation was the same in the 60's i believe.

True in a few short months all of it will be forgotten

I don't think their reputations will be hurt, most of the big media that people pay attention is liberal. It will probably help their reputations I think.

Shia is no MLK, that's for sure :toofunny:

Well what Madonna said was so disgusting and childish. If I said that I would be arrested. Even  the democrats I spoke to agree with me on her, she ruined her reputation with that comment.

Yeah, she was a bit OTT and crude.

Honestly, if your name carries some sort of influence and you want to use that influence to back a just cause such as opposing Trump's ignorance, then it's your obligation to be a rational adult. Don't push people, don't talk smack, don't throw insults. Carry yourself with some dignity otherwise you run the risk of alienating possible allies or worse, you could make it all too easy for those that disagree with you to brush off your argument/stance as meaningless.

I don't think their reputations will be ruined though. Anyone that's a fan of Madonna's knows that she can get crazy at times. Her standing with the GP might be strained for a few weeks (which seems to be the public's attention span) but I doubt she actually lost a single fan :spin: same goes with any other celebrity or artist.

I don't think so. Wasn't it already ruined on the conservative side? So what?

If you find rude and unnecessary behaviour repulsive, you cannot possibly be a Trump supporter. In fact you should be the polar opposite.

Then why is one accused of being one? :emma:
