This. So much. I adore Florence and I respect what Gaga made with her, but I honestly find the song a complete drag. 

It feels like they (and I believe they did) came up with a melody and just back and forth sang lines to each other. They then laid them down on a track, added a lacklustre bridge and that was that. 

Florene creates some of the most interesting and challenging popular music, Gaga completely slept on that. 

Not only is it my least favourite song on Joanne, it is one of my least favourite Florence songs, period.

Hey Girl is way too slow of a song and it doesn't have too much energy.

For example, Fireworks has about the same tempo as Hey Girl, but it packs more energy, which makes it a better choice

Also, stop right there. She may claim Joanne is her most personal album but can you honestly tell me ONE new thing you learned about Gaga this album cycle? ARTPOP had songs about her being raped, GUY was a commentary on not only gender roles she faces but also her opinion on the oppressive ways of the music industry, told stories about her romances, etc.

Joanne has almost no personal songs other than PI. I literally cannot believe she claimed MR was her most personal video, unless she is trying to says she's now lazy and uncreative. Just look at BTW and ARTPOP, they are MUCH better and WAY more personal and raw and revealing albums.

It doesn't matter that she named it after her late aunt that she never met. That doesn't automatically make it personal somehow? Honestly which songs do you think are personal that only Gaga could sing? The lyrics and concepts are so vague and general that ANYONE could sing them.

And then to throw a song in there about finger blasting yourself? On an album to pay respect to your dad's dead sister, she's really going to sing about fingering herself? And having sex with cowboys? I'm sorry but to me that just seems blatantly distasteful.

DIC would flop just like all the other singles of the album for the same reason GUY flopped. The GP is not and will never be here for songs with raunchy topics like power bottoming or female masturbation, especially with cringeworthy lyrics.

Like, this site trashes Closer for being basic and cringeworthy yet praises Gaga when she sings about finger blasting herself on an album made for her dead aunt. This is why people don't like Lady Gaga anymore
