A part of me thinks Beyonce is part of Gaga's deal...

The NFL obviously hold Beyonce to high regard. They love her in the SB. We heard that Gaga had to beat a few other artists to securing the gig... and I wouldn't be surprised if having Beyonce on side helped her case.

Personally, I would rather she didn't appear. Yes, it would be iconic (and their first performance together) but this is Gaga's time. Not that Beyonce would overshadow her at all (in terms of talent, anyways... GP reaction, I don't know) - I just want Gaga to do HER thing. Be THE star.

We will see.

Simply because she has already done two SB performances and I would prefer Florence as a guest star (probably not gonna happen:giveup:)...

But I get that they never performed the song together and the SB performance being their first performance would be just iconic :sis:

NOPE, GAGA'S TALENT secured the deal. And having all the real icons in music as friends is what did it too, Gaga is friends with the true greats in music. Gaga has a lot to offer the Superbowl, Beyonce DOES NOT. Beyonce paid to get the gig twice.

Oh, of course. I know it is Gaga's talent and only Gaga's talent that caught the attention of the SB. She totally deserves this stage and it'll be iconic.

But what I did mean is that - in terms of management / artist bidding for the spot - I do think a Beyonce connection will have helped. It isn't the reason she's there, but it could've gave her an edge over her competitors (wasn't it Rihanna and Taylor?) - a world exclusive, first-time performance from two pop icons delivering one of their biggest hits on the world's biggest stage?

I mean, it would make sense.
