Every time I read negative posts about Gaga, mostly her not being able to have hits etc, I remind myself that thanks to her immense talent and charisma she's thankfully still able to do huge stuff like book Super Bowl, get Oscar and Grammy nominations (and win), get asked to perform at important events etc etc and I'm good to go! Her power! Who else with such "poor stats", no hits etc could do all that? Now, Gaga, just go and perform MR at the Super Bowl and show people that they're not aware of this masterpiece of a song only because radio is being an a**hole. Yaasss Gaga, yaaasss, go girl! Show them!  (No but seriously, can she please have at least one hit in the next 10 years. Lol).

our standards are dropping so quickly lol

If she performs MR at SB and it still does not take off, I'll laugh at you for running out of excuses why it's underperforming and don't bring radio, because SB is literally biggest expose you can get on planet earth, not to mention coverage worlwide after the show.

How can we not bring radio into this when radio IS important for a song to actually become a smash? MR can stay high after SB for some time only cause after the SB promotion starts to fade, then what?! We still need radio too for the song to really "take off" and STAY at the top of the chart (let it be iTunes or whatever chart). At least that's how I see and understand it.

Again... SB doesn't guarantee HITS.

Quickly? It's been 84 years hon :toofunny:

thanks God her art is enough for me. She would only release songs like Sinner's Prayer and I would need no success no hits. :rockstar:

@the two people arguing over which song is screechier (PI or DH)

Both PI and DH vocals are screechy.

What makes PI's screechy vocals appropriate to the song is the theme and angry mood so it is tolerable to an extent.

DH's bridge is almost unbearable but it is tolerable too since she is trying to emote frustration and determination in that song as well.

So all in all both songs are a scream fest but in both cases it is done appropriately and on purpose to emote a certain mood, timbre and tone.

Yas! it really seems like some of y'all are only used to sweet pop vocals, Gaga isn't even screaming, they're barely louder than other songs in her discography.

OT: I'm not too mad about what's happening tbh, I just hope she sings it at the super bowl, even if it doesn't take off after it we will at least have a nice peak so the song dies like it deserves and we can say that Joanne spawned 2 top 20 hits. If she doesn't sing it i hope she sings what's going to be the third single and rush releases it, i just don't want her to waste this opportunity by singing Perfect Illusion or a Joanne song that's just gonna reach the top 20 on iTunes and then drop because she didn't send it to radio or something.
