In this era of globalization where everything is so heavily connected between Nations, no one can do anything major military wise to another major Nation without brining themselves down

 

Thats why since WW2 so much effort has been made to prevent major wars (in addition to the fact that our weapons are much more destructive now)

 

The era of invation or stealing resources or starting attacks is over. It only happens in isolated incidents now

China may be one of the richest countries but its military prowess isn't as strong as the U.S. Fan fact: China's nuclear and military weaponries aren't there to defend the country, it's there to defend the interest(s) of the ruling communist party

Also, U.S. has very strong allies, Canada & Mexico in NA, UK & France in EU, Japan and South Korea In Asia. China (and even Russian) is not that stupid to wage war against the mighty modern day Roman Empire, Murika! Although, a new form of war is on the rise (i.e. war on internet, hacking, which is what China and Russia have been doing)
