evgenigerm2 4,056
I study English at school and we had a homework to write a review of a movie, a book or an album and I always try to mention Gaga in my classes when I have the chance, so I decided to write a review of "Joanne". I'm not a native English speaker and I apologize if there are any mistakes, but here it is! Share your opinion in the comments, please GAGA NO MORE Who knew Lady Gaga could actually sing? For everyone, except for her fans, she was just the crazy young woman from New York who likes to provoke people with her extravagant outfits and ridiculous music videos. Well, not anymore. Her latest album, released after a three-year break and titled “Joanne”, takes us on an emotional journey which reveals her true self and takes off all the masks and meat dresses. Gaga herself describes the album as a very personal project that shows her as nothing more than her parents’ daughter and her sister’s sister. It features 11 songs and 3 bonus tracks including the hits “Perfect Illusion”, “Million Reasons”, “A-YO” and “John Wayne”. The album was named after Gaga’s aunt who passed away from the deadly disease lupus when she was just 19 years old - yet another proof of the genuineness offered by Gaga in the project. Even if you’re not a die-hard fan of Mother Monster’s music, “Joanne” is definitely worth the listen. The National Football League of the United States chose her to perform at the 2017 Super Bowl after hearing it! It has something for every taste – powerful ballads, dance floor anthems and, last but not least, Gaga’s first attempt of country/rock songs which actually turned out to be very successful. The album is Lady Gaga’s fourth #1 album and has already sold over 400,000 copies worldwide after its release in October. What a powerful comeback, isn’t it? If you want to learn more about Stefani Germanotta (that’s Lady Gaga’s birth name!) and change your opinion about her on-stage persona, I recommend you to give this album a try! „I allow myself to fail. I allow myself to break. I'm not afraid of my flaws.“

I like your review but I'd leave out the part about how much it sold and the sentence "what a powerful comeback, isn't it?". That's unfitting for a review

That's unfitting for a review We have a weird students' book which actually wants you to mention how successful the movie/book/album is and the movie's Oscars have been mentioned in the example. Since it's for a magazine, it also requires rhetorical questions. „I allow myself to fail. I allow myself to break. This triggers me so hard I know you're one of us, but I don't understand how people STILL don't know she's a powerhouse vocalist??? She's been showing off her vocals for over two years and slayed last year's national anthem at the superbowl

Maybe write: Gaga's first attempt on country influenced songs turned out to be a succesful comeback, giving her her fourth #1 with over 400 000 copies sold. I think it sounds better this way. And maybe use the rhetoric question at a different spot, if you need one
