Mariah Carey tbh. Sure,  she has an amazing range,  but her songs are super cheesy and really nothing special :nails:

You will rot in hell for this blasphemy

Dorothy Gale

Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Marilyn Monroe just off the top of my head.

Elvis basically took a style already popular among black people and marketed for whites.

The Beatles are overrated and I think a lot of people will agree. I've never been super into their music.

Marilyn wasn't nearly as talented as other women in her time period and I find her to basically just be a pretty face with a nice body.

Ok so I just talked about people with a lot of success, or a big fanbase not exactly legends

Michael Jackson, Idk that much about him but I think he worked hard for success, but I have yet to hear a Michael Jackson song that I like, but thats probably just because all of his hits were from when Music was very different. Also I saw the Thriller video when I was like 8 so I've been scared of him ever since. Plus the pedophilia scandals kind of repelled me, even if they aren't true I don't think those allegations came from nowhere.

Ariana she has good vocals and fun pop songs but she didn't really bring anything new to the pop scene, and doesn't take a lot of risks.

Beyoncé is a great performer/singer/dancer/everything else, but she's overrated in the sense of everyone treating her like she invented music and she makes all of her visuals and creative aspects of her career. Beyoncé has so much acclaim that she really can't flop at this point and although she's made some great music, I think how the GP treats her is a bit much. She's a bit overrated, her creative team is underrated.

Prince tbh, sorry for the people still mourning but the only song I knew was purple rain, and that didn't impress me really. Idk he probably set a lot of fashion and performance standards for male pop stars but idk he seems really over hyped IMO

Katy Perry, she has so many hits, but they are only regarded as "hits" because of how overrated she is. Every song that has a catchy beat that she releases goes #1. At least she writes her own music (I think) but her only decent songs are 1 sided, and her "heart felt" "sad" songs aren't very good, and don't seem genuine (besides the One that Got Away, I like that one :hor:)

Rihanna she is a terrible performer 90% of the time, and she only has a few songs that live up to her hype. But she seems like a good person, so there's that

Justin Bieber do I even have to explain myself? He's been a self absorbed arse his entire career, getting #1s left and right based on his sex appeal alone. All of his songs are so obviously catered so that teen girls will buy and stream the hell out of it. Plus he's so ungrateful to the fans that gave him his career.

Zara Larson I think most of her fans like her bc she won Sweden's Got Talent or something like that, but the songs I've heard of her aren't very good at all IMO and she has way too many streams for the music she puts out.

The Chainsmokers :classy:

Janet Jackson I couldn't name you a single one of her songs, it seems like a lot of her fame came from her last name, but I know nothing about her so I'm probably wrong

Fifth Harmony I just don't like their music, and The Spice Girls and The Beatles are the only Girl/Boy Group I think I'd ever like

Underrated

Melanie Martinez She has a huge online fanbase, but I honestly believe she could be the next Gaga/Brinty/Medoner (lol fight me)

Lady Gaga I feel like I don't have to explain this one

Britney Spears She was a legend, Idk why people don't treat her as such, her fame was at the level of Madonna and Gaga's peak

Amy Winehouse A lot of people are liking Amy bc of the Documentary, but there's still way to many people who don't even know her name

Ok I'm definitely gonna die tonight after posting this :lolly:

Is Adele considered a legend yet? If so, she should be included. Sorry not sorry :classy:

Beyoncé, I love her and she's great and all but I'm sick and tired of people acting like she's some sort of super innovative artistic genius.

I still think he's overrated, but at least he has a lot of talent so I'm not salty at the amount of success he had

Elvis Presley, I love his voice and how important he was for rock n roll to go mainstream, but he's not an outstanding musician, or a writer

He did steal a style of music, but you can't steal soul and I believe he has it. Same with Joe Cocker, he was white and its unfair to all of the black soul singers that inspired him get ignored, but he still tears me apart when he sings.
