I didn't even open the thread but I knew the first few comments would be about The Beatles, like always :sharon: I wanted to write a novel why saying they're overrated isn't true but as I see some people have already written it :lolly::firega:

You know what it is for me with Beyonce? It's like watching a Swiss clock. It works perfectly, serves its purpose but the strive to be the perfect performer, woman and what not makes it so boring for me to watch. That's the reason why  I got into Gaga only with ARTPOP. It was sometimes gritty, rough around the edges and just not clean, which to me is far more interesting. That strutting on the runway she did makes many wet their panties, same as the perfect dance moves and struts Bey does but it just does nothing for me. Just give me a raw performance and I'm watching and listening.

respectable!

This whole post just goes against Gaga's message of love. They're legends in their own right. And we're still talking about them today which just proves their impact. :hor:

MTE. They're legends because they impacted people/the industry in a big way. They mean something to their fans, like Gaga will always mean something to me. So even if they're not my cup of tea, I respect their legend status.

The Beatles are not overrated. the ones who say that.. don't know anything about them, know only their hit singles and moptop hair. I'm sorry but they are absolutely amazing and I won't start to write why because I don't see the point.

Overrated :
U2

Bruce Springsteen
Metallica

ignorance is the word. it's their loss.

Popular music wouldn't be as it is now without The Beatles simples. If you know, you know.

There's a reason why literally any music course involving popular music would have a whole section on them. Whether you like them or not, calling them overrated is just kinda funny to me.

You guys do know personal opinion and taste factors into why someone may believe something is overrated, right? :oprah:

So defending an Artist that has been mentioned and saying people are wrong for believing that Artist is overrated is kinda pointless.

And I'm say this again, thinking a Legend is overrated is not the same as saying they shouldn't be a legend in the first place.

"My people… need to let our bitchiness out. Otherwise, it turns to bile and poisons us"

I don't know, maybe Amy Winehouse? She released just two albums, her voice wasn't trained that much. You can't say she was trained vocalist like Gaga for example, she only got her specific timbre, that was something that made her voice unique. I'm not saying she wasn't talented, but after her death she suddenly became something superior, that no one even come close to.

Sugar, spice, and everything nice.

Amy Winehouse was a trained jazz vocalist - she did things like NYJO and definitely was trained. Gaga is classically as well as jazz trained, it's slightly different.
