SpookyKid 15,153
idk, but she is still my queen Life has a hopeful undertone |-/
freebit 6,240
The Grammys are largely political. You have to have the label in your corner lobbying for you and such, as well as the artist themselves (Taylor Swift is excellent at this).
AlexanderMagno 10,746
Agree and don't know why either. Ultraviolence is one of the best albums I've ever heard. And seems like Lana never compromised her work, she became successful but never really fell for it like so many artists do. So she definitely deserves more recognition and that includes a few Grammys.
Buddy 5,686
The Grammy's aren't credible
SKANK 14,288
I think it's impossible to underscore how detrimental her appearance on SNL was to her career. It was an Ashlee Simpson level blow up. After that performance people turned her into a joke, they went on fishing expeditions in order to discredit her. It's hard to receive a Grammy nomination when the public has decided your art is just a contrived PR stunt. It's a shame.
Dorothy Gale 7,575
There's plenty of talented acts that have never even been nominated. Lana has only been in the industry a few years and has been nominated, acts like Björk have been busting their asses back to the 80s and get snubbed continuously. Lucas 26,993
The Grammys aren't what they used to be, people should got it when Meghan Trainor and Justin Bieber won one. They are more about commercial success than real quality.
Seeka 12,372
@SKANK is right. Because of what happened on SNL, which has many different blames on many different parties, I doubt Lana could ever make it onto the Grammy's or many other American awards shows. But the Grammy's suck. period. They re a laughingstock.
JackTheTripper 866
But come one, in 2012. She was everwhere, and everybody liked her, i remeber all my friends who dont listen commerical music at all, - everybody feel in love with her, myself included. Radio magazines even clubs- she was everywhere . The lyrics and the sound wehre so so good - so i am suprised, she was never appreciated in USA as much as everywhere else in europe. John Slayne 4,154
It's a blasphemy. And don't even get me started on Björk and how the Grammys keep snubbing her...
Bolkins 4,125
Because I just don't think she is bothered by that whole aspect of her industry. Lana's disinterest in the music machine one of the main factor to why I like her so much, she seems to only care about her music and her amazing aesthetic. Not the bore worms!
