She knew Hillary was going to lose, so she decided to sing the short version bc it wasn't worth it

I think it works well as an outro to the album, it leaves the listeners to reflect on the happenings in culture today and the social unrest? Like, the last track they hear stays with them and Gaga wants to make sure she's clear in her hope for the future? Also it could reiterate the idea of the fallen and broken star that pushes on? I do believe her when she says the song is about Trayvon Martin but I also think the song relates to her situation after ARTPOP.

it's not really the worktape, its just the live version haha...

Yeah, this :emma:

It was an acoustic performance and, like a couple of other songs, she did it in a different key than what's on the album. It just so happens to be the same chords as the work tape version.

So you didn't notice the work tape and final versions are in completely different keys?

It's in the same key as the work tape version. The final version is in a completely different key.
