But calling it the best music ever written is a widely exaggerated and false statement. It's really a subjective thing, but more than that, it was a statement of the exuberance and joy of hearing those songs. Sure, I know that it can't actually be the best music ever written, but at the time of listening, it is. My father and I were both very much into classical music. I asked him which work is his favorite. He said, often it's whatever work I heard most recently. Music can be that subjective, yet there are constant arguments on GGD. androiduser 7,438
doesn't make much sense, because new generations are in high school now and Gaga is still making music.... She's not too old for them so age is not the issue...

I won't like the years of 2008-2012 were some of the best years for pop music. BUT I will never say it is the best, as I feel the best is yet to come. I don't know the science, but you could be right. Reminds me of an experience in a restaurant a few years ago. I got to talking with the waiter, and he said for his main job he was a middle school teacher. I asked if his students were into Gaga. He said no, middle school students are into Bieber, while Gaga is for HS. Interesting how tastes are so different over just a couple years difference. I live outside the space time continuum. When people hear these songs in another 10 years, they won't be thinking "does this song take me back?" They'll just be taken back, because that's what the music does on its own. Great point! She's not too old for them so age is not the issue... She kind of is though. She hasn't crossed over to the next generation in a big way. Yes, she was the biggest pop star in the world only 5 years ago, but a lot can change in 5 years and even then kids were getting sick of her. I was in high school when BTW came out and I remember there was a huge drop off in interest that year. Gaga was kind of like the Glee of pop music, they shared an audience and cultural dominance for two years for similar reasons, and they both declined quickly while holding on to a core group of die-hards. High school kids today aren't going to be too interested in Joanne, let alone even younger kids. And honestly if I hadn't been in high school and at that right age when BTW came out I probably wouldn't have cared about it either.
