BlaqJezus 1,027
Why does Beyonce dress like Gaga now? Well...let's see...Gaga recreated what the standard is for Pop. She literally took Madonna's image to the next level, though few would admit it. You cannot be boring, pretty pretty princess, and expect to be a pop icon of the new age anymore since Gaga, and that is a fact that Katy and Bey need to live with. You are truly delusional if you think Beyoncé "dresses" like Gaga these days. Here's some Beyoncé from 2003, when Gaga was 17 years old and in high school. Gaga definitely was partly responsible for a "return" of over-the-top dramatics in pop music back in the day but Beyoncé has always been "close" to the fashion world and Gaga does not have a trademark on "fashion" in general. Gaga didn't invent haute couture or "crazy fashion", she simply wore it and occasionally still does.

This would be true, if it weren't a well known fact, that Beyonce's mom dressed her for many years before her (Mother's line) own line was released. Let us not give credit where credit is not due. I was a DC fan back when they had more than 3 members and none of them were named Michelle, don't come at me. (not to mention a Madonna fan way before that.) That's from a fashion magazine and styled by the magazine team so I don't think it counts as her style. Not saying that Beyonce copied Gaga's style theatrics, but Gaga did make it acceptable for pop stars in the 2000s to dress ridiculously. Beyonce used to wear stage clothes designed by Tina Knowles and they have a distinctly 90s feel. Or she'd turn up at award shows in the same figure hugging sequin dresses. She has a new stylist now and seems to be more comfortable being fashion forward. She looks great!

She was performing every minute of the day at the beginning of her career. You can't use one photo shoot as "evidence." Gaga was seen as out-of-this world. Beyonce was seen as a sexy glamorous woman. (not to mention a Madonna fan way before that.) I was simply replying to your original statement. Beyoncé was wearing a lace dress embroidered with multi-colored beads and crystals, something she's done since the beginning of her career. Sure, it's a different dress and the silhouette is slightly different, but it's still a beaded dress with crystals. And the whole "style" for her Lemonade album can be seen in the pictures I posted, the ruffles, the poofy sleeves... And I disagree about everything you said about Gaga/Madonna. I think Gaga has done too much, too soon in terms of her fashion choices. Now she's back to one look per album (cow-girl chique these days) but there was a long period of time where Gaga would simply wear anything "crazy" or "avant-garde" just to be part of something. A movement. Anything. The one look per album era is a blueprint set out by Madonna and I disagree Gaga "took Madonna's image to the next level" when she's literally failed to even successfully re-create Madonna's original one-look-per-era formula. Don't kid yourself. Or has Björk also taken Madonna's idea to the next level because she wears avant-garde fashion and has the most famous Oscar dress of all time? 53 minutes ago, doppelganger said: That's from a fashion magazine and styled by the magazine team so I don't think it counts as her style. I was just talking about Beyoncé's recent fashion. It is simply NOT Gaga inspired when Beyoncé's has worn almost identical copies of this "look" over a decade ago. Beyoncé has evolved style-wise of course, but a beaded dress is still a beaded dress. A ruffled dress is still a ruffled dress. Latex or patent leather boots and a bodysuit are still latex and a bodysuit and Beyoncé has worn all those things years prior to Gaga. Left is Beyoncé years before Gaga, on the right is recent Beyoncé. Catch my drift here? 54 minutes ago, YaGirlGrigio said: The meat dress says hi 👋 And those are photoshoots they're meant to be over the top to grab people's attention and I think the person is implying how she dresses in award shows now The meat dress doesn't have anything to do with this, now does it? Or is Beyoncé wearing salami and am I missing something? 👋 👋 👋

She's performing probably the only real country song in her entire catalogue with a country group at the Country Music Awards. A first on all levels. Beyoncé's never released a country song before, she's never performed at the CMA's before and she's never collaborated with The Dixie Chicks before but you want to call her out on doing "the same old ****". Okay.
