How on earth is it predictable when MR would literally be the second single after YI that is a ballad (and calling You and I a ballad is quite a stretch already).

I predicted she would pick this song

Definitely Ok with MR being a single, but why the hell can't she make up her mind and stick to her choices?! The last thing we need is another Venus/DWUW mess, and it seems like that's exactly what we're getting. People are gonna get completely confused once again, but whatever... This doesn't really irritate me because of the charts, but because it just feels sloppy. Like, gurl, you're marketing genius Lady Gaga, not some unexperienced beginner who doesn't know how to sell a record. Also, people aren't in the mood for letting you get free passes.

Lol yes

Choosing any song from the album over Million Reasons for second single was a terrible and stupid choice. Trying to push a dancy pop song over a sad ballad during the holidays season is like trying to sell ice cream in winter instead of hot apple cider.

I understanf MR is doing well and I don't care If the single is A-YO or MR, I understand that both can become hits

but MR went #1 bc of the Carpool Buzz, it was eatable before it but what actually helps is promo.

MR just got another red update, a dark red one, the Carpool Buzz is starting to die, if she doesn't promote it asap it won't be near of a hit.

I hope I'll be wrong but by the end of this day MR won't be at #1 anymore.

A-YO is at #14 (-2) and didn't appear on the Carpool, it only needed a video + promo.

Trust me, it's the RIGHT decision.

MR is the only promo single that stuck around TOP 40 and was released by Gaga. It's actually her most successful "promo single" ever lol

The fact that the single was higher than PI and higher than A-Yo when it was released tells you a lot. Also, I don't know a lot of songs that went #1 from Carpool Karaoke, and there aren't a lot of examples. It means that people actually love the song, just look at youtube comments.

I know Interscope and Gaga made quite a few wrong decisions in the past, but this will not be one of those.

I will agree when I see it being promoted and with an Ad like they did with A-YO.

:icega: at the end of the day promo always work I want it to hit so bad like I want to go out and see everybody crying hard and be Like 'I've lived for years, now suffer'

This is almost certainly the wisest business decision. I don't think it will turn in to any sort of mess, either, because it's not like A-yo is getting any radio play yet anyway. MR is doing the best on itunes, and as long as it is sent to radio ASAP and is what she performs at the AMAs, there shouldn't be any confusion.

Hopefully AMA performance, music video and a possible commercial would be enough for this song to really smash.

We can expect it to fall once they remove the discount and the CK effect is gone, but I think radio will pick it up pretty soon once they send it everywhere.

A-Yo was high only in US/Canada

The rest of the world really didn't follow, even during the release before the album

Million Reasons seems to be loved worldwide. ( peaked 4 on WW on release and is back there)
