Toph 375
Definitely agree with you. I'm finding A-YO to be a lot more fun than DiC. Doesn't mean DiC is a bad song at all, Beck's production is INCREDIBLE, especially that outro (it ****ing slays). With a more impressive intro (and not just the chorus production opening the song), I think it would give the song more listening longevity for me. I actually skip it now (sometimes). I love the masturbation motif: it is 100% Gaga. I'm not sure the GP would eat up those lyrics though.

OysterBaby 450
your points are silly so i wont say i agree with you but its not a highlight on the album for me
Debaser 50
I love the lyrics. Women talking about masturbation is always refreshing and brave IMO in this man controlled world. The song is OK, but definitely overrated. I expected so much more from two icons like Beck & Gaga. Not a lazy tropical demo that doesn't show either one's strength. GeorgeDK 33
It is an outstanding song, should really be a single.
Edonis 28,950
Gaga is known for her sexual innuendos and lyrics throughout her entire career so I'm genuinely curious how you felt about songs like LoveGame, So Happy I could Die, Government Hooker, or Sexxx Dreams as well? I do think at times it feels a bit out of place but I like the song and so do a lot of fans who also enjoy her dance-pop songs as well as her rock, soul, funk sounds as well. Its just a fun song so don't take it too seriously
Ladle Ghoulash 23,539
Yeah, I think it's a good song, but I don't really think it works on the album. It feels like it was sort of a bone Gaga threw to fans who she worried wouldn't like the direction of the album. I think it disrupts the musical/thematic flow. I love her previous songs that play with innuendo, but DIC just feels out of place, while SD, SHICD, LG etc. fit into the sonic and thematic structure of the other records. The only thing that differentiates DIC from those songs that I think can justify its placement on Joanne is her talking about the role loneliness and pain play in masturbation, which I think is definitely a new angle for her and fits more of the confessional context of Joanne, but even still, it rubs (wink wink) me the wrong way sometimes. We have forgotten our public MANNERS
TheKillerQueen 1,983
I can't stand DIC, my least Gaga song of all time. The beat is lame, and the lyrics are whack. So I agree. Lace up my boots, throw on some leather and cruise.
Klou 2,414
I completely agree. The chorus is a complete letdown and very anticlimactic. When the chorus comes on and ends, it's like... That's it?

Rockets 1,807
I will admit that while it was basically my instant favorite since the snippets, after the first 5/6 listens it started to feel less exciting. I mean it's a GOOD song, but probably doesn't have that replay value, at least for me, cause it gets a little repetitive. Anyway, there is nothing immature about talking about masturbation, it's not a vulgar song by any means. If anything it approaches sexuality in a very healthy way, and that's a very good thing. Anderson123 38,184
I see your point. It's actually a nice song and I like it a lot. I didn't feel the hype when I listened to it because reading everyone going crazy really made me think it'd be huge. I mean, it's good but I expected something huge. It's one of my favorites from the album now but I don't really see it as the lead nor the 2nd single. As for Diamond Heart, I still think it's one of my least favorites from the album. It's not bad, but it's not THAT great.
saturn8893 30
It's honestly no better or worse than any of her songs on ARTPOP. It's just that it sounds so refreshing in an album full of country
