BlaqJezus 1,027
Musically in the same vein? Yes. Lyrically? No. Sample? No, and you need to get your terms right. Hey Girl sounds inspired by it musically, but does not sample it in any way.
SummerGirl21 787
I think it is HEAVILY influenced by it. And if she wasn't such good friends with Elton, she would be receiving notice about a law suit asap.

ScotHML 392
I thought that the instant I listened to the snippet. Love it.
Killa 17,183
It was my thought when i heard the snippet, it was clearly evident. I'm a bit divided, is for this moments it would help if i had playlists, the song reminds me very much of George Benson (probably instrumentation) but i've heard this kind of accentuation in many Rythm and blues or funk songs, even rock more inffluenced by blues. But that pedal note, that stomping effect.. that's too evident She should just had sampled this And everyone would smiled, but okay. For me that wasn't the problem, i liked the song. It was the synth went a bit downhill in some parts. She needed a Quincy Jones on this one
