But I basically stopped reading when your basis became about trashing the music. It seems to be a recurring theme for some people on here to make up reasons why Gaga is failing or whatever just to cover up how much they personally don't like the music. The world still goes on whether you or the "country fans" like the music or not. She made a great record. I'm sure by weeding out some fans, the rest of us will be brought together. I never dragged Joanne's sound in the thread YIKES. I actually like all I've heard from Joanne, thanks.
GagaXCupcakke 3,818
It's because voting is starting soon. It's not that bad. Cher has been dragging Trump for about a year now.
Benji 20,113
I mean Gaga's always spoken her mind politically. I guess she's going a little hard this time round because Trump is, well... Trump and she's always been in the Clinton's pockets.

Indie albums usually sell between like 9k-25k, so maybe that's what she's aiming for. You guys are still on the indie train? who came up with this dumb idea, she still has a multi million dollar recording contract and is the farthest thing from an indie artist it was funny for like a day but you guys just look dumb keeping up the 'indie' thing ...ıllıllı c h e r r y c h e r r y b o o m b o o m ıllıllı... giskardsb 12,565
She didn't make Joann to market specifically to country fans and she isn't trying to blow off Pop fans and switch to country. You all don't have to like the music but you don't need to make up motivations for why Gaga made it the way she did, which is a POP album where some songs have a more Americana vibe . This is not a full on country album. and then there is the "shut up and sing" contingent. some fans just don't understand Gaga AT ALL.

PMKKARDASHiAN 8,570
I don't think gaga should shut up to keep her new country lovin trump supporters, because let's be honest, they ain't buyin joanne. I think gaga should shut up cuz she's stated her opinion, several times. It's out there. We know she's pro hillary, but this entire trump thing is becoming a circus. Let's the news outlets and reports air his dirty laundry and let them report facts or what have them, Gaga, you just keep on making them country bops. And people who say, 'oh she's allowed to voice her opinion all she wants blah blah blah' oh I'm fully aware of what she can do, I'm just saying there's no need for it, but I'm sure she'll ride this out to the end. My opinion, much like hers, means literally nothing in the grand scheme of things.
Ashley 9,512
Would the average Trump voter listen to Lady Gaga though? it's a well known fact that she's a supporter of LGBT rights and most of the Trump supporters I've witnessed both online and in real life are ultra conservative and lowkey homophobic (yea I live in Texas). So I think it's safe to say she's not alienating a large group of people anyway. Not that she should care, I admire that she expresses her opinion freely. the shy guy 43
Gaga has always been about freedom of expression and has always, always been political- why would she change now? Why should she compromise her art and message just to be more appealing? Also the idea that she's trying to appeal or pander to a certain demographic is outrageous. Gaga made Joanne because she wanted to, not because it would sell. In a more general sense, I think the idea that celebrities should keep their mouths shut on political issues is also outrageous. Everyone has the right to express their viewpoint and if they're aware of the potential consequences then who cares? I swear you guys get so ridiculous and controlling sometimes like let Gaga live her life and be herself and worry about more than the charts, like damn. A-yo, A-yo..... We smokin' em all
