"If you listen to the whole discussion that she had, a very important point that she made is that a lot of young people who went into debt, worked very hard to get a good education, can't find a job commensurate to the education that they received," Sanders told CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union" Sunday. ... Asked if those comments bothered him, Sanders said: "Of course it does, but we are in the middle of a campaign ... If you go to some of the statements I made about Hillary Clinton, we have real differences." Still, he said the two have worked together since the end of the Democratic primary on proposals such as providing affordable public college tuition and expanding access to health care through increased funding for community health centers. "What Secretary Clinton and I have done since the election, since the primary nominating process, we have worked together in a number of areas," he said. Asked about those comments in particular, Sanders shook his head "yes" and said he agreed with Clinton. "They are living in their parents' basement, and that's the point," he said, arguing that many young people have been denied economic opportunity since the recession. A Hillary administration will be much kinder to him then a Trump one. Hillary will bring us closer to Bernies goals then Trump will. That way in 4 years, we won't have as much work to do. I wouldn't have gone that route personally, but overall he did what he needed to do. No surprises. What's his alternative? He has worked on progressive policies with Hillary that could be jeopardised if he started talking **** about her and he knows it's Clinton vs Trump - any progressive knows that a centrist politician like Clinton, with all her flaws, is better than a far right bigot like Trump. And if she actually sticks with a more liberal platform she will be able to please a lot of Bernie supporters in the coming years as well. I've personally talked a lot of **** about Clinton and obviously didn't support her in the primaries. But politics is about COMPROMISE. You have to work with what you have. She is the only option we have and there's nothing that can be done about it. This doesn't meant you have to like her or even support her decisions, but you must acknowledge the reality just like Bernie and his rational supporters have.... Doubt it. But analyzing the situation and like @Whispering pointed out to me some time ago, she probably won't be re-elected and we'll get a Republican president in 2020.
