Eddie 2,518
On 2/10/2016 at 4:13 PM, T E Anne said: no. since art doesn't have a definition, it's up to every individual to decide whether they perceive a certain work/piece as art or not. it's absolutely fine if you don't think that some of the things she does is art; however, do not tell others, who think otherwise, that it is not. their opinion is just as valid as yours. there is this powerful thing called interpretation. hermeneutics is a wonderful discipline. please don't **** on its magic just because you don't care. (i'm not referring to you specifically, i'm talking in general terms.) kevin parker was wrong when he said that ignorance is bliss. well, i'd say that not always. but to answer your question: no. i don't consider her poop to be art. her pee, on the other hand, during the sleeping with gagz launch party, was an art piece as it was an organic part of the warholian voyeuristic concept of her performance. to me it's all about the intention of the work. from my perspective, art has a dynamic form that resembles the process of communication: it's a dialogue in which a message must be conveyed between the artist and the audience. in short, if she were to put her poop on display in a gallery with the intention to draw the GP's attention to the shitty state of the music industry, it'd call it an art piece. a conceptual one, to be precise. i hope i answered your question. Ok I'm not reading this pretentious ****...and it's 2017 What if tomorrow I see you again? Should I say that I used to love you?
SilkSpectre0 547
A lot of what people are posting seem to be what they found cringing or embarrassing which isn't the same thing. Most of the times when Gaga is called pretentious it's when she's talking about her music or her art and unless what she shes talking about is of low quality it doesn't make sense to call her pretentious. People mainly latched onto that word with her because people consider pop music to be low quality and meaningless and they didn't like Gaga talking about pop music intellectually, particularly as a woman.
