This post is not satire. I've been "Gaga's biggest fan" in my daily life for the last 8 years. Everyone (EVERYONE) who knows me knows that I find some of my biggest inspiration in life from Gaga's artistic output. 

But 'Joanne' era is shaping up to be her biggest "flop" era of her career. And I'm not sure that I'm going to enjoy the album beyond the first 4 or 5 listens. 

 

Are you ready to keep stanning? Or will you move on to greener pastures? 

I will continue to stan for 2008 - early 2016 Gaga until the day I die. But I'm honestly not sure yet if I can stan for 'Joanne.' I strongly get the feeling that Gaga may have "lost it" with this project when it comes to her artistry. ALL of these interviews are making me absolutely CRINGE. It's like I don't even know her anymore. I honestly hope that I look back on this post next month after hearing the album and think "how foolish was I to doubt her?!" ... but sitting here today at the end of September, I'm really not sure if I'm going to be here for this era. 

I'm sure the music will be "good enough" but I'm not sure if it will be stan-worthy. 

I JUST DON'T KNOW. 

All the "insider" info makes it sound like the kind of album that I actively avoid!! The polar opposite of what I show up to the Gaga show for. 

I mean, the "Jeff" review yesterday left me feeling like.... 

Anyway the point is... Regardless of what 'Joanne' turns out to be... Are you ready to keep the Gaga flame alive even if you aren't here for this project?

Because I am. Gaga deserves to be remembered as a legend. She's one of the greats. It's on us, sistrens. We have to keep the dream alive.

Gaga is bigger than an "era." She's earned her right to explore her artistic interests beyond my personal taste. I will keep on stanning, even if I'm let down with Joanne. Becuase I love Gaga and I love what she represents.

Where do you stand? 

Well the way I see it, if you're still here checking for her then yeah. Lets be honest gaga hasn't been popular since after born this way. Nobody that wasn't already a huge gaga fan before could relate to ARTPOP. Thats the way I saw that album, as a gift to her die hard monsters and not so much an album for the charts. So yeah I'm here for unpopularGa but I honestly don't care about her on the level that I once did. Like I remember being OBSESSED with the applause video and G.U.Y. I could watch them many times over and over. With Perfect Illusion I listened to the song like 3 times the day of release and thats it. I've only watched the video 2 times because it just doesn't have that MAGIC that made me crave more gaga and want to keep coming back or pressing the replay button. I so badly wanted something like the teaser videos she did with INTEL for the Grammys. We all expected so much more from gaga and perfect illusion after waiting for 3 ****ing years. Like honestly she could have released a super radio friendly song, a smash, as first promo single even if the rest of the album was completely different.  I still love gags for everything she has given us and for all past Eras but the girl and her team have us all ****ed up. 1 mind blowing song and video were too much to ask for. I'm really hoping the album will be great and make me love her once again like I did with C2C. Even though it was JAZZ it was amazing so I do think she will slay with JOANNE. Who knows? plus she will keep making music for the rest of her life so I think we all just have to enjoy the music and chill the **** out. lol

They literally make my stomach turn. And I never, ever imagined that I could say that about a Gaga interview. Her interviews are one of my favorite parts of her mystique.

But this era it just feels... flat to me. 

Like... let's be honest... is she doing coke again??? Abusing diet pills? Because it sure looks like it. And not in the fun creative way.

2008-2009: Was here when she was called a man and a plastic popstar.

2010: Was here when they were calling her queen of the illuminati.

2011-2012: Was here when they were throwing the Madonna conparisons around like confetti and when her message was "too gay".

2013: Was here when ARTPOP was "the biggest disappointment of her career" which, I respectfully disagree it was as bad as people make it to be. 

2014-2015: Was here when Gaga turned to Jazz to heal her soul and when she was making amazing performances of songs that weren't hers.

2016: Will still be here when the music fails to pander to a certain demographic. Or if the album "flops", as some people so eloquently put it.

I've said this before but I'll say it again; I love Gaga and stan her because I respect her as an artist, I connect with her message, and I love her as a human being.

To me, I see a woman who loves music and wants to create. Whether or not that means she has to sacrifice commercial appeal or sales figures is irrelevant to me as I simply do not care.
