There're monsters who said that for real though, met many of them here actually. Once you dislike PI, they labelled you as fake fan. It's as though you couldn't have an opinion.

Until 1:50 de Build Up is massive! But then we get the key change. While it's fresh, the key change kills the momentum and the songs restarts (for me at least), trying to build up again but in a boring repetitive way. 

When I hear PI I feel the rush and adrenaline, but after the 1:50 and the key change I feel "off" and it seems that someone is beating a dead horse. 

If I had to rate it, the first 1:50 is A+

The rest is F... 

PI was close to be her best song and a great hit if they fixed it. 

The key change was bold, but makes her lose the momentum. The fact that the bridge is deep under doesn't help either. It's a good bridge, but doesn't stand out and shine properly cause Gaga is always shouting "It wasn't loooaahhh-veeee".

This one is a miss. I enjoy the song and I always come back just for that amazing start... after that I skip the song. 

But has I said... PI would have been her best lead single by far if it wasn'te for the messy second part. 

I stilll have good hopes about the album and I'm loving Gags being so chill and dedicated to her music. The fame thing was cool for 3 Eras but ARTPOP was nothing that I hoped. It felt just wrong. I loved the Itunes concert, but the production on the album was bland and was quite different from what it seemed from the Itunes concert.

To finish, I am disapointed that kevin had this Idea. I love tame impala and he is crazy good... I had high hopes and It was a dream to see him work with Gaga, but... PI wasn't his best idea. 

 

PS: That Uptown Funk beat at the end of PI seems out of place... 

 

 

 

I kinda agree with you. I do think PI could have been her best song. I just disagree to what you said about the key change. I think the song works pretty good till the end of the key change, but the last 40 seconds are too repetitive.

if she had put out another premade electropop bop, believe me, it would just have been more of the same and people would be ripping her apart and burying her career and y'all would be on that train FOR SURE (even more than you are already). and it would have been forgotten already.

but she innovated, she broke through her own paradigms and she delivered a timeless banger. and that is bad for A LOT of people becuse it's bigger than their (pick an adjective) brains. you may not like the song, FINE. but don't trash her for trying out new paths.

Perfect Illusion is a great song. Is it the best Gaga can do? No, and it's probably not the best on Joanne either. But it's a great song and I like it as an introduction to the album. The only reason some people think it's a letdown is because it's not the sound they were expecting.
