What I've come to realize is that what this fan base is after isn't Gaga's new music.  Yes, it's the music, but most importantly the stans are just after the kill.  They want Gaga to break records and be the most successful artist in music history because they want to have the receipts to throw them in the face of all of Gaga's haters.  In other words, they want to feel validated for stanning for Lady Gaga.  Very sad, isn't it?

To be honest, that's the wrong reason to stan for an artist because that means all they care about is the success of an artist and not really their music and artistry.

It's still one of the best pop songs released this year. Of course we see Cheap Thrills being a hit. We see Closer too. Are they really important? Sia's discography from before she became huge is way better than what she's releasing now that she is relevant. No one will remember the Chainsmokers next year, and they're behind a HUGE promo plan, just like Interscope did in 2008 with their new artist Lady GaGa, if you didn't know her at that time, you will never know what is promo for a new artist because she literally performed Poker Face at EVERY tv show. 

"Gaga is fake, she is real now" JUST NO! She's always been real, but she knew she had to make something sellable to be recognized. She is a complete artist, not a singer. She loved The Fame, Born This Way and ARTPOP as much as she loved CTC, it's just that they happened at different times in her career and life. I don't like the same music I liked 10 years ago. We all have grown up, she has too, and super fast. Some of those who complain about her being flopping would never have the courage to appear in front of the whole world almost naked or in a meat dress, or perform in front of 100 or 50.000 people. See how much courage she's had to have to be where she is today.

Streaming is now the most important thing in music industry along with digital sales. Do you know? iTunes keeps 40% of the earnings of each sale. Here comes the numbers now!

Now that streaming and digital sales are important, record labels aren't interested in promoting artists that are already established. And it's obvious. We see The Chainsmokers are now on the #1 because their label is making so much promo for them. They're new. And they know they can't have a strong fanbase so they have to promote the music for people to buy it and then make some money. 

Gaga is already established. They made EVERYTHING to build a strong fanbase, and that with her proven love for her fans, it works. Why would you invest money to promote a song that, if we talk only about iTunes sales, will only give you 60% of the benefits? Artists make so little money from the actual music, it all goes to marketers, labels, etc. If a song is 1,29$, they will only earn 0,77 cents from it. If the song sells 1 million, they'd make 770.000$. Selling a million is considered a good thing, right?
They already know her fanbase will buy the product, so at least they will make some money from it. Knowing that Gaga is already famous, they don't have to invest in promotion because they already have those "clients" to buy the product. Maybe they're not MILLIONS, but it will be something at least.

Of course they have to rent the venue, pay promoters, stage etc. but one arena with 20.000 people and 20.000 tickets sold at 80$ average, that's 1.600.000$ for ONE night. If a song sells a million copies, they make 770.000$. If she sells out an arena one night, they double that. Would you pay money to promote something that will give you less than one show? I wouldn't. And you know what? People will be interested in seeing her live after seeing her performance at the Oscars 2015 and 2016, the Grammys, the SuperBowl with the Anthem. Now they know she is amazing live and they will be interested, even if Perfect Illusion doesn't sound like a mega radio hit. Promo with Gaga is about "see this girl because she really can". Madonna sold out the Rebel Heart Tour and the album was a huge flop. But people knew who is Madonna so they went to see her. And she has a fanbase, but there were a lot of people just going there because "she is Madonna". Did people actually loved Lemonade so much? Or is Beyoncé selling out the Formation Tour because people know "She is Beyonce". Well, after the promo Bobby has done from Cheek to Cheek to the first half of 2016, people know now what is Gaga live. 

So stop complaining about album or single sales because all the money they make from those sales goes to the companies. People don't even buy music now with streaming. few people buy CDs nowadays. Of course, The Immaculate Collection sold 12978937493 million copies, but that was the only way to get the music in the 90s. Of course The Fame and The Fame Monster sold a lot, Spotify wasn't huge at that time. Born This Way sold 8 million copies in 2011, and Spotify already existed but streaming wasn't being counted, that means she already had a fanbase, not because it was promoted, it was, of course, but . ARTPOP flopped!? Oh yes it didn't sell a lot, but there are so little albums that have really sold A LOT from 2013 to 2016. Yes, Adele did, but she is the queen of GP and they have jobs and can buy the music, they won't use streaming. Even Cheek to Cheek sold really good in the US. Do you think teenagers went to buy that album? Do you really think her fanbase bought a million copies of C2C in the US? No, that was the GP. Starstruck selling almost a million? that was the GP too. 

if you really want Gaga to be around for a long tiime, save money from where you can and buy tickets to her shows.
