Where is the passion, where's the creativity? It's upsetting, I'm not going to lie. that's the thing that bothers me the most, tbh. i just can't imagine a gagz album that is non-conceptual. that's simply not her. i believe that she is still the same complex and articulate artist that was very vocal about the structure and meaning of her albums/songs. she's an educated and intellectual woman. when she said that joanne is not a concept record, my jaw dropped. then she said that it's a collection of songs that are quite autobiographical in nature—my jaw dropped again. i was thinking to myself: but... gagz, i love you, i really do, you know i do, but weren't all your records structured around a very specific idea/motif/concepts? weren't all your songs based on personal experience and, thus, autobiographical? then she sort of went back on what she said and elaborated on what she meant by autobiographical. she said that all of her songs were created that way; however, the difference this time is that they won't be as metaphorical and implicit but quite explicitly related to specific events in her life. i mean, it's sort of confusing, because those criteria still apply to her previous work. what i think she meant is that joanne will be more direct and more universal when it comes to the relatabilty (sic, lmao) factor of the record, which would explain why she keeps saying that this album will allow her to connect with people on a more human level. as i see it, TF/M and AP were conceptually hard for the GP to understand, while BTW was too LGBT-specific. this time she is consciously trying to build a solid foundation of themes that are both easily and universally identifiable when the casual listener hears the record. anyway, i may be very wrong here but my perception of her way of talking about her work is that she tries to tone down the hermeneutical aspect of her artistry—that is, she's not getting into hardcore interpretation of the possible layers/meanings of her songs as, for instance, in the case of judas or AP. she just keeps it simple and down-to-earth, which i, as a humanities student and as a fan of intellectualGa, don't like at all. if you hurt taylor swift, i'll hurt you back

I hope she works on the Soundtrack of A Star is born with other producers who know how to use her voice and mix it. It's a stretch to call the whole era a flop since nobody heard the album yet. I listen to BTW ✞ and ARTPOP and I miss those era's. This time around it just doesn't feel the same. I wish I could turn back time to before btw and do it all over again, I miss that gaga and the era so much I actually feel upset. I love Perfect Illusion but gaga has changed so much after ARTPOP which is probably good for her, as she is in a better place, you all know what I mean. In her interviews, not only does she look completely different, but she sounds different and her personality seems more, 'normal'. Opinions? yes! There's alot of nostalgia when i listen to BTW / ARTPOP, well all her other ones, But I totally agree, I think she was so bold and unapologetic, sadly she has changed but I think it's age, she's 30 now and I think her priorities in life have changed and sometimes it will show, she was exceptional because she lived and breathed her art, she was fearless and had nothing to lose when she came onto the scene, she was in a different state of mind, she wrote Bad Romance about Luc Carl, you can hear the raw emotion in the song, and lyrically it's very deep, but now I think she's in a good place and it's effected her music, yeah she wrote Perfect Illusion about love, not Taylor apparently? But it's not the same somehow, I feel as though it's not as genuine. I'm just grateful we have had some GREAT albums from Gaga, and I look back at them with fond memories, especially The Monster Ball. I do feel as though if Gaga wasn't so settled in life her music would be better, have more drive behind it. She had 3 years to write this album and she said she was in the studio for 6 months with Ronson, what happened to all the sessions with RedOne? I feel as though she did another ARTPOP and scrapped everything and started again like 7 months ago.

Save your worries for when the rest of the album comes out in a month! Something tells me we wont be disappointed. This. We've only heard one song from the album, so how is it possible to judge the era? And I wouldn't judge Gaga based on any era, like it or not, because she is such an extraordinary artist and person, I live outside the space time continuum. Fantina 3,349
I am just really sad that i got to LOVE her just now!I was a fan of hers since the Fame era but i really regret now not going to any of her tours(especially the ARTRAVE) or experiencing the meltdowns over the BTW cover and SkypeBall.... Don't get me wrong i love PI but i am just kinda sad that i missed out on a lot of great things! Until then, this is Elvira saying unpleasant dreams.
