My post was referencing those who say that Gaga is above charts, or above commerical success, when she very clearly is not, nor will she be for as long as she is signed to a label of this caliber. Once Gaga leaves interscope and goes independent, then and only then, will I believe that her music isn't, (to some extent) intended for commercial success. PI may ahve started out completely different to the final product, who knows what goes on behind closed doors, but interscope most definitely isn't going to sit back and watch someone who should be their most profitable artist, tank in sales. Something will be done, whether it is against the wishes of Gaga or not. Gaga likes to rebel against the label but at the end of the day they give the final word, unfortunately. Yes, as long as she is signed to a label, she will be demanded some form of success. But from the music alone, is seems like Gaga continues to follow her vision depite the risks. That's your opinion. All people remember is her meat dress. She is not the best seller at touring or record sales. We love her but lets be real. But ya know, we all have our own personal legends. My Mom is a legend in my house, for pies. Delicious pies of so many varieties. So it's ok to call Gaga a legend. Also I did not say she was the best selling, just one of the best selling.

Kenji 90
Gaga's simply realised that she has to build a new bridge from digital era to stream era. She just chose the other way, the most alternative pop rock way.....Good for some fans ,bad for other fans. I enjoy this era that is "no charts" friendly, but it sounds great . Welcome Joanne! TheBatman 951
If she didn't care at all about charts and sales and just wanted to be artistic and do her thing, she could have put out a FREE album like Miley's Dead Petz. That was a brave and artistic album unlike anything else being produced by any of the other girls, at times deeply personal, at times totally bizarre. Shadowcrest 2,487
All this reaching to justify lackluster performance. I think PI is a great song, but it somewhat underperformed, and this album could be the same.
Friendonkey 138
Aren't Bloodpop and Mark Ronson trendy producers? Sounds like excuses tbh.
misunderstood 8,736
I just wish there was a place where money didn't matter, charts wouldn't have existed. "I'd rather be poor and happy, than rich and alone"

But you're right, she has had three number one hits, that's it. You can be sure the same girl who has been trying to position herself in the realm of Madonna MJ Bowie, etc, cares more about the charts than any of us. She wants hits, huge global hits. #1s might as well be #3s it doesnt mean much. Some songs that didnt gi #1 were bigger than many that did because several factors affect the peak Bad Romance for example was bigger than several #1s that year but simply didnt go #1 cuz it peaked at the same time as the years biggest hit (tik tok) which blocked it the exact rank can be misleading Gaga had several hits until EDOG that might as well be #1s in terms of discussing big hits shes had just sayin
