YES! :eww:

I don't like fans that put themselves above others and think they're more superior. Sit down and stop acting famous.

dang.

I hope with all the delays, it means a lot more shows are put on around the world, I need to see her so bad.

I hope so too. Me and him are already planning. Hopefully it won't cost us a ****load like I expect from the BTWB. I imagine tickets will be around 30-50 anyways. And We're not leaving until we meet her. :coffee:

Am I the only one who looks at Born To Die (the song) in a completely different light? The general opinion is that the song is about how the relationship between Lana and her boyfriend was born to die because they had gradually fallen out of love. But the lyrics and the video provide a completely different spin on it. It's about a girl and boy who decide that their lives aren't going too great and the only good thing they have in the world is each other, so they decide to committ suicide together (presumably by driving their car off a cliff or driving until they crash as seen in the video). It's all about the idea of romaticising suicide, something some screwed up teens who are madly in love think. You can tell in the lyrics that it's not about the death of a relationship, it's about being madly in love:

"Feet don't fail me now, take me to the finish line, oh my heart it breaks every step that I take, but I'm hoping at the gates, they tell me that you're mine." - She's planning to committ suicide with her boyfriend and is trying to forget her fears to do it and hopes that when she reaches the gates of heaven, they'll be allowed to remain in heaven together.

"I feel so alone on the Friday nights, can you make me feel like home, if I tell you you're mine." - Once again, he's the only one she wants to be with.

"Don't make me sad, don't make me cry, sometimes love is not enough and the road gets tough, I don't know why." - The idea of them killing themselves makes her sad but sometimes, love isn't enough to make your life good, so suicide is the only way out.

"Keep making me laugh, let's go get high, the road is long, we carry on, try to have fun in the meantime." - She's trying to take her mind off the seriousness of her impending suicide and is turning to laughter and getting high to distract and numb her beforehand.

"I was so confused as a little child, scared that I couldn't find all the answers, honey." - Her screwed up childhood is the reason why she's contemplating the idea of suicide and romaticising it.

"Choose your last words, this is the last time, cos you and I, we were born to die." - Their last words are the words they're going to say before they take their lives. And when they die, it's going to be so tragic and romantic and it was always their destiny.

And the music video only further confirms this. So, to me, this is what Born To Die is really all about. It's not autobiographical, clearly, it's just a character Lana takes on and uses her memories from a previous love to fill the lyrics. I'm just a bit put out that this song is considered to be about something as ba--l as a relationship that was doomed to fail when it's clearly about something else, something that's much more sad and beautiful.
