My guess is they're just bandwagon fans, and that they'll probably stop "stanning" for her when her album is a few weeks old.

I disagree.

Why are all these people suddenly "in love" with her and her music? I mean, I've seen people all around Facebook, Twitter, etc that used to shade her all the time and all of a sudden their all over her.

I find it so strange.

To be honest, I don't love her. I just think Video Games is a flawless song and BTD is meh

Have you listen to Off To The Races and her older stuff?

I disagree.

It always happens, though. Even with the most known artists who already have an established fanbase. A lot of people claim to be "SUPAH FANS" and then slowly fade away as time goes by after the album release.

Don't worry, I'm not talking about anyone here. I'm just speaking in general from what I've seen and heard.

Well, it's not that they're just bandwagon fans. I used to consider myself a super fan of this solo female artist and after two of her albums I slowly stopped being one. However, I still listen to her music once in a while. I guess it's just that some people stop labeling themselves "super fans" and "stans" but can still admire and appreciate their music.

Who really cares? Bandwagonning or not, she's getting exposure, and more people are getting into her. The more people that know about her, the more her album will sell. It's a good thing!

Does anyone know if the album version (Born To Die) it is uncensored ? . . I mean with "**** Y@u" included.

I'm just saying it cause it's happened to me countless times with artists like Katy Perry and Rihanna. I'm not sure it's considered as bandwagon stanning, though, as I still listen to their music very often and they are both some of my favorite artists. I just feel as if I'm not into them as much as I was before they released new material.

But yeah, I guess you're right. There's a big difference.

Yes, it supposedly is.

But who knows? Maybe those bandwagon fans might turn into hardcore stans :ohwell:

I think I'm set to become a big fan of this girl. Her music grows on me unlike no other. When I first heard Video Games, I wasn't keen, but now I love it. Blue Jeans, I think is decent but I can feel it growing on me, Born To Die was amazing from the very first listen and Off To The Races was decent but on the second/third listening, I loved it. Could I just ask, do the viewpoints change in the chorus and whose viewpoint is it from (her boyfriend speaking to her or the other way round?)

I see no reason why there has to be this notion of looking down on people who have just become fans. Not everyone has heard of an artist when they were in indie circles, you know. Am I a Gaga bandwagoner because I hadn't heard of her until she released Just Dance? Of course not. A bandwagoner is someone who'll jump on whoever's hot right now but dump them after their debut or when they stop being mainstream. And if these songs are anything to go by, Lana's set to become one of my favourite artists.

Yes yes, Gaga is talented. She is just not that interesting, (other than what hat is she going to wear next?). LDR has a better grip on the darkness in music. As Nick Cave would say, her songs, while simple and naive, have the quality of saudade "a deep emotional state of nostalgic longing for an absent something or someone that one loves. It often carries a repressed knowledge that the object of longing might never return". Gaga, on the other hand, is the Oprah of Pop.
