As others have said, the lack of the iconic theme song/opening credits, I'm not happy about. And the fact Gaga wasn't mentioned in the credits, yet others like Evan and Cheyenne were when they weren't even in the episode is kinda fishy. The commentary is cool, but after a while, I just want them to shut up and let the story fold out for us to figure out.

great episode though and I can't wait to see how this season plays out!

what's fishy about it? she's not in the main cast. she's a guest star whenever she is on it. she said her role was small idk what you guys expexted

I loved this episode. Like I said in the other thread was that AHS is finally gaining the element of terror again. I am really interesting in what they will do this season. I'm really liking the narrating. I love their commentary and I feel like it can be a great way to learn more about the character.

Wes Bentley was shown first, I'm talking about the one Sarah screamed about, the one that fell to his knees.

By the way - the bearded man at the end had just been scalped. Literally. It was a form of torture and often lethal - native Americans throughout Virginia and North Carolina were known for that.

I must have missed that interview? Do you happen to remember which one it was when she said that?  :hor:

So far the first episode really came through - it's a bit cliche, but I still love it.  So much better already than either Hotel or FS (although that's not a shining endorsement)!! :smh:  We'll see how it goes along.... RM somewhat has a record of starting out strong and then wavering.

I was a bit underwhelmed. "The Haunting of..." format feels cheaply basic, and all the haunted house cliches deployed here felt so tired not only for the show, but the horror genre in general at this point.

The colonial aspect intrigues me, but I feel like it's going to feel less "real" to me in a weird way since this time around Kathy Bates & co. are technically just reenactment actors. I prefer a suspension of disbelief.

Odd that they're going for a reality TV show... it adds almost nothing to it, in fact I'd say it makes the show all the less interesting/scary. Pretty disappointed! The best thing they could do is like, break the fourth wall, and all of a sudden the 'real' people are in danger. I don't see myself having any interest in re-enactment actors :toofunny:

I loved it! It was really tense and I'm really enjoying the theme they're going for. At first I wasn't sure of the documentary format but it grew on me

Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~

I was beyond underwhelmed by this premier. I still have no clear idea about what this season is, the dynamic of the show is far TOO different, where are the awesome intos, and beyond that.... it wasn't slightly scary. In fact, basically nothing happened. I sruck it through every season, well MOST of freakshow, but idk about even getting to episode 2. :(

It's not scary, it's just really creepy, but I still couldn't bear to look at the screen during the silent moments when y'know that ****'s about to go down. :deadbanana:

I like it, but it's weird because it's an interview style so you know all of those characters make it out alive. Makes you wonder where the shock factor is going to come into play with everyone being alive. Unless something happens to them after their interviews. Or maybe after the interviews people go out to the woods to investigate? No idea.
