FATCAT 59,992
So, I've seen a lot of people that think debuting out of the top 10 means that the single is bound to flop. I find this hilarious because so many HUGE songs debut in the bottom 50. Hotline bling, that song that EVERYONE KNOWS, came out a month before it's success caught fire. It debuted at #66. "Hotline Bling" entered the US Billboard Hot 100 chart dated August 22, 2015 at number 66.[37] Its chart debut was fueled primarily by digital download sales, with 41,000 copies sold in its first week.[38] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hotline_Bling So guys, Gaga doesn't need a top 20, a top 30, even a top 40 debut. PI isn't flopping until it's dropped out of the top 100. Just let things play out. This kitten over here (meow)

I can get you a few wiki results, un momento Rise: In the United States, "Rise" debuted at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100, for the chart of August 6, 2016. Cheap Thrills: In the United States, the song debuted at number 81 and peaked at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the issue dated 6 August 2016. Couldn't find anything on Heathens debut, but yes, it's all very volatile. There's no "right" path to topping the charts. LaLuna 12,732
Thank you for this I'd rather see PI have a slow start and climb its way up than debut in the top 10 only to drop drastically after tbh.
Quartz 12,524
Or it can drop out after the first week ala GUY. Flop queen! Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊

Once people hear it, maybe a week or so, it'll start to kick around some streams. Streaming is hard to get into because most people use playlists and such, not hunting for new music every day. AlexanderMagno 10,746
Just Dance debuted at #76 in the Hot 100. And today is one of the best-selling singles of all time, having sold over 10 million copies. But will it happen again with Perfect Illusion? Hard to tell... Gaga is not new in the scene, but then again Drake wasn't either. It's up to people accept Gaga's change or be disappointed for not having the dance pop they are expecting from her. It has been so polarizing among fans that I'm not expecting a better acceptance from the GP. But again, Bad Romance algo got mixed reviews upon debut, as many of you tell... So the video will be crucial to PI's success.

Not to mention, it JUST came out. I'm not saying she'll get a top 5, but anything's possible. This kitten over here (meow)
monketsharona 80,251
I think PI will debute top 10 Though I also this the song will be a grower (in both radio and charts), Gaga just needs promo in the USA and video out
