The Guardian surprisingly did a great job reviewing. Not scared to criticize it and actually explain why

I mean, is Perfect Illusion a songwriting masterpiece? Absolutely not, but neither is ANY of the music currently out.

The Sia comparison was ridiculous, Sia 100% uses pitch correction, I don't know why they're trying to pretend she doesn't.

They complain about Gaga being conservative during the past couple of years. First of all, do you expect her to perform a Sound of Music medley at the Oscars wearing an outrageous outfit? Secondly, if she were still wearing outrageous outfits they would say she isn't evolving as an artist. Not to mention they bashed her 'Gaganess' earlier in the article anyway.

The thing is Adele always serves the same style, the same music type. She could sing about cutting vegetables and baking cookies and it would be seen as a master stroke.

 

Gaga veered into wildly different territory and floundered. When she experimented with genres and styles onnBtW, it was only on album songs. Her singles were still very pop and very TF-TFM influenced

The Guardian also praised Glory in multiple ways and that album (every single track) is the definition of generic and repetitive. Let us not, some people always hated her, they still will.

It's not an opposing view, it's an entire article of hatred towards her, mostly about things which have nothing to do with the song.

If you're looking for somewhere that isn't predominantly Gaga 'stans', perhaps leave the forum.

She can never win. Either she's too "Gaga" or too boring. These ****ers don't realize that she isn't stuck in their box of how she should be.
