Don't expect Perfect Illusion to go #1

I'm not in denial, but this thread was not nessesary. :duck:

And no, I'm not trying to voice over anyone saying "you should keep comments like this to yourself," however... we should be reminded that GagaDaily is intended for people to come together as a fanbase (with positivity) to share our favorite moments, fan art, news, updates, and more.

Threads like "quit being so delusional, Perfect Illusion is going to flop," or about how "Gaga's nose job is terrible," shouldn't even exist. All this negativity is not needed.

Why not focus on the positive stuff like... we are about to receive a new single, a single that Gaga has poured her love into, new looks, music videos, photo shoots, and so much more! I'm sure Gaga has a lot of tricks up her sleeve, but we (Little Monsters) need to stop being so constructive and just enjoy/be thankful for what we get!

OMG :rip:

How about we just wait until the song is released before jumping to conclusions? Who knows, PI might strike a chord with the public, she's had hits before and it can happen again.

- Streaming has taken over and Gaga has always been weak in that department :awkney:

WHAT!?!? 'Gaga has always been weak?

Gaga made STREAMING A THING FROM 2008 TO HALF OF 2011

- Her relevance has taken a dip (especially outside of America)

That doesn't make sense, you've said 'outside of America', they don't contribute to the #1

I don't think that just because Closer is doing so well right now is a sign that it'll reign endlessly for the next 1.5 months or anything. Here's the reign of each Billboard #1 this year (not including Hello as that started reigning in 2015):

Sorry - 3 weeks

Love Yourself - 2 weeks (non-consecutive)

Pillowtalk - 1 week

Work - 9 weeks

Panda - 2 weeks

One Dance - 10 weeks (non consecutive)

Can't Stop The Feeling! - 1 week

Cheap Thrills - 4 weeks

Closer - 2 weeks (currently)

Two one-week #1's in one year is quite unusual for the American market, as is non-consecutive weeks. 6 out of the 9 #1's have had 3 weeks or less at the top. That suggests that Gaga could have a chance. I'm not expecting anything but nothing's impossible. It's a Mark Ronson collab - that'll make sure radio's interested in it. This will be Gaga's comeback and lately, the industry have been into them, what with Adele and Justin (both of them, really). Gaga's team seems to know what they're doing this time. I'm not going to underestimate them.

The voice of coherence!

That's right, THEY KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING, many sites/radios have been teasing us for months, do y'all think that the 'perfectillusion2' page was there because of accident? days before its release? They elft it there for us to find, minutes later 'PI' became the #1 WW on Twitter.

They know what they're doing and they probably have deals

I'm glad we have a huge fanbase and everything but that's not what determines a song's success in today's day and age. I just want everyone to be realistic so it's not crushing if the song doesn't go to number 1 or whatever. That's all.

Okay~but this is a thing that is in future and probably won't happen.

Realistic? You are just so negative.

We all know she is not that big as 2011, but have confidence for her and her music no matter what will happen.

Yeah~you can say anything like "this probably will happen" and have any opinion, but everything has not happened yet , so making kind of negative thoughts is just hateful.:reductive:

"If the song is good, it will sell" doesn't really apply to the charts anymore. There are countless albums out there with massive critical acclaim because of very good songs yet they're not even charting well enough.

Even though I make efforts to legally stream and buy gaga's albums for support, I still view quality as my main purpose in this era. I just want damn good music, no matter how much sales it gets.

Don't get me wrong i'd be totally happy if it does go #1 ;)

No one has been promoting their music rigorously and if Gaga does that, she stands a good chance. Literally, if she pulls a Born This Way or even ARTPOP-Ga, she can do well commercially.

I can't think of an artist who even bothered to promote their music this year, and don't give me that 'promotion doesn't work anymore' excuse because Gaga cannot conform to what other artists have been doing and needs to start promoting her sh1t.

So true, artists this year have been ****ing lazy. Even Ariana, who promoted the **** out of My Everything went the lazy route.

As most of us said,Bad Romance never went to 1 but i %100 believe that in 20 years everyones gonna remember and listen the song. But Closer ? I dont think so.

And also do you realize something.Whenever an album or a song will be released we say '' GP is important,Gp is this,Gp gp''

Yes,Gp doesn't care about charts ! they contribute to charts but %90 of society listen to songs they re given. If its good they listen. If its so good they listen even after years. They don't try to dig each song on the albums like us.A woman can say she loves Lady Gaga but i bet she doesnt know Heavy Metal Lover or Dance in The Dark ( btw Dance in the Dark is top tree most amazing songs in my list with Stairway to Heaven and Whats Love Got To Do With It)

As said above.Charts are not important ! Maybe it would make Gaga happy but inside somewhere we all want a song that we will listen forever and watch the MV (like bad romance ) something iconic and something new.
