It's been "popular" for years, I've been listening to Purity Ring do it since 2011.

The instrumental of their entire album is comprised of these pseudo harmonics, it's just that now it's done terribly. (This starts off from 0.00 and it's what I'm talking about)

Don't write off an entire genre because the few that suck at it make it :rip:

Agree 100%, this trend has been going on in the indie pop scene for years, its just become terrible since big music labels have started using it, same with most genres (Trap, Dubstep etc)

I only like it when it sounds good and done right but if this trend keeps happening I think I might get sick.

Forget what I said. Purity Ring is indeed awesome and I am happy to have been there ever since the start. I think they should write some music for LG5 :P

I hate it too, and i expected to like something BEBE was involved in. its just unappealing, not even the drop just the whole entire song. I added it to my gym playlist and i changed it it was TERRIBLE.

You're right, I guess they "debuted" when Shrines was officially release! They're my second "Stan" case. Saw them live in NC!

I swear, every single popular song in this genre at the moment sound EXACTLY. THE. SAME.  It's one of those songs people put over their Vine/Instagram videos because they want to be quirky and trendy. Also, her voice is not unique at all; I feel like I've heard tens of people who sound exactly like her. This is why I don't listen to the radio. It's nothing but bad rehashing...

My name is yours! What's Probglum?

I like the drop in Name of Love, though. :diane: it's one of the stronger drops i've heard in the catalog of 'trendy' edm-trap beats.

You don't deserve a point of view if the only thing you see is you.
