But other examples, like Calvin Harris, Rihanna, Ariana waiting almost a month to release a music video for their singles... why do they wait that long? Why not just release a video the week after the single drops??

This is nothing new. It has been happening for years now.

What so many artists are doing/not doing this year is giving me anxieties. I can't think of any artists right now that is promoting their music decently. Ari isn't even pushing Into You enough

Cheap thrills has a video, the one with the dancers for the original version of the song. Don't think the remix needs its own video, the original slays

I don't see how those are bad decisions - they were all hits, so the lack of music video clearly hasn't hurt them in any way. Streaming is so big now that a music video is no longer required immediately to make a song a #1, which is a big plus. That's the one big advantage Gaga's going to have next era if she decides to take her typical sweet time with videos. And I actually like the Sean Paul remix, as I think it adds something to a song that has barely any lyrics in it and it really needed an extra push. I'm with you on Ariana and Beyonce, though. What I'm really against right now isn't the timing of the videos (although that is a valid point), but the lack of interesting content in these videos. They're just glamour shots for girls, boring dance video for boys. What happened to story telling?

I totally agree with you. I was literally just watching a video about when music videos began and became a huge influence on the charts. Now artist are more focused on streaming so the visuals suffer in my opinion, even though music videos could help propel streaming numbers.

There was a time where no music video would have meant no #1, especially internationally. To think how many more hits Gaga would've had if streaming was big back when she started out. Back then, the time she took to release videos really put the doubts on her chance at the top spot. Everyone else put a music video out within the week, we'd be lucky if Gaga released hers within a month. I'm so glad that won't be as big a deal now. And with the AP era, I think she finally got it. She actually had a music video ready to almost coincide with the audio's release. I hope she continues with that.

Drake needs to release the video for "one dance" now if he wants to continue being #1... He has like a week left for this non-video mementum

Britney's teams obviously. They manage the best selling pop star since 2000 and won't do any promo when her new single drops after 2 flop projects (Britney Jean and Pretty Girls)...
