Bernie Sanders: House Democrats Booed Me Today Because We View Differently

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) said the reason that House Democrats booed him at a closed-door meeting Wednesday morning boils down to the fact that they simply “look at the world a little bit differently.”

Though Sanders said that reports of the incident were somewhat exaggerated, he did acknowledge “differences of opinion.”

“What I’m trying to do and the reason I ran for president is to help transform this country. To deal with income and wealth inequality, a declining middle class, the fact that so many of the young people are leaving school deeply in debt,” Sanders told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer later Wednesday.

House Democrats allegedly booed Sanders for his longstanding refusal to endorse Hillary Clinton in the Democratic presidential race, despite the fact that she’s won enough delegates to clinch the nomination.

Democratic lawmakers reportedly shouted “Timeline! Timeline!” after they sat through Sanders’ brief introductory speech about Wall Street reform, trade, and campaign finance.

"No, Senator Sanders, they booed you because they're angry and afraid that you will help elect Trump. Especially since you keep telling your people the elections system is rigged because you didn't win and because you keep undercutting the presumptive Democratic party nominee..

Enough with the details-free "movement" and "revolution" and "transformation" jingoism. 2016 is the year for practicality, pragmatism, realism and coming together in what is shaping up to be a once-in-a-generation (maybe for some, 'lifetime') chance to run the Republicans out of the halls of power.

To deal with income inequality, a declining middle class, and excessive student debt,the first thing that needs to happen is the GOP needs not to be controlling our government at the federal and state levels! Also, dear Senator, not everything is an economic issue!

We have issues of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and geopolitical challenges and so much more to deal with, as well as the rise of an increasingly violent radical authoritarian right wing in America. Casting literally everything as based on economics is the inflexible approach of old-style pedagogic socialism -- one where one group of privileged white men who are used to always being in power is replaced simply by another.

You are done, Senator. The only thing you can do from here on out is damage."

Sore, sore loser. He gave it his absolute all but I think the game is up, the smartest thing he can do is stand down and get behind Hillary and unite the party. Of course he has no obligation to do it but right now it seems pointless for him to be running, and him pointing fingers and calling the entire system rigged because he didn't win is not really someone i would want in a presidential position anyway.

I hope he comes to his senses some time soon and does whats best for the democrat party, he should've been independent if he wanted to play games like this.

Tbh I'm glad he wasn't because he could have been a real spoiler like Nader.

So part of me is grateful to Sanders for not doing that.

Another part of me is wondering why he's apparently gone back to wanting to be a spoiler.
