Morphine Prince 102,003 Posted July 6, 2016 Share Posted July 6, 2016 Pokémon GO, the augmented reality mobile game from Nintendo and Niantic Labs, is rolling out today on Android and iOS devices. The game is currently not available in the US, but is expected to be at some point today. Pokémon GO is a similar game to Niantic’s previous title, Ingress. Players can capture, train and battle Pokémon that they find in the real world—essentially bringing the core concept of Pokémon games into an augmented reality, global battlefield. While the game is free, a $35 Bluetooth device can be purchased for it which alerts users to nearby Pokémon. There are also in-app purchases, because of course there are. Pokémon themselves can be found based on specific conditions, such as weather and terrain. Water Pokémon can be found near water, for instance. Rare and legendary Pokémon are much harder to find. There are already sites dedicated to helping players find their preferred Pokémon, though I imagine part of the fun will be finding them on your own. Currently Pokémon GO is only available in Australia and New Zealand, but keep an eye out for it in your own region. Happy hunting!
