"Hello, can you hear me?" sang out the voice in the dark. And up went a huge answering roar of "Yes!"

Everybody came out for the biggest selling artist in the world and why wouldn't they? Adele drew what was surely the largest audience for a headliner at Glastonbury since the Rolling Stones in 2014. There were silly questions about Adele's suitability to headline this venerable festival, with the notion that a romantic chanteuse and ballad singer might somehow lack the requisite vigour and attack. It is true that Adele doesn't do much more than stand and sing and chat but when you've got songs that robust and emotional, a voice that luxurious and expressive and a character that funny and engaging what else do you really need? Her band played with skill and resonance and the audience did the rest. There is nothing in popular music more spine tingling than a mass spontaneous singalong and, with a crowd of over 100,000, that may have been the most joyous singalong the festival has ever witnessed.

Harry

Watched it live last night out of curiosity and was very impressed. Didn't really know how a headline set would work out for her considering her genre but she nailed it and it somehow worked. I'm still not a huge fan but she can work a crowd better than I gave her credit for and she seemed genuinely overwhelmed and appreciative of the audience. Props to her :applause:

This was the first time I had seen her live and I am overwhelmingly impressed.

Her vocals were on point. She engaged wonderfully with the audience and she is funny as F*ck!

i have just bought her discography. Love her.
