Orlando Killer’s Wife May Be Charged As Accomplice For Knowing Of Attack

It looks like we may now know the identity of at least one accomplice who assisted Omar Mateen in his massacre of the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Fla. NBC News reporter Ken Dilanian brings us word that law enforcement officials may soon charge Noor Salman, who is Omar Mateen’s second wife, as an accomplice to murder. It seems that Salman has told the FBI that she drove Mateen to the club several times in the days leading up to his attack. She also says she knew of his plans and tried to talk him out of it, NBC News reports. Salman also admitted that she was with Mateen when he went to buy ammunition and a holster, according to NBC News’ Tom Winter.

I empathize with her attempts to save him but she should have reported him.

This is exactly the problem I was talking about in another thread. Many families of Islamist terrorists shelter known offenders because they are family or friends, essentially acting as accomplices to their crimes despite being innocent themselves.

Not true. Most jihadis in Europe are caught by worried mothers calling to the police because their kid fled to IS.

Why couldnt he drive himself? Aren't they also looking into the sister and brother in law? 

I find it so bizarre that family members are often involved together in some way in many of these attacks.

She could have saved so many people by reporting him.....we would have only heard about this man like we did the guy that planned to attack the pride event (i think in LA?) where they caught him beforehand

If domestic violence is involved then well I kinda understand why she didn't report him. Lots of women who are battered stay with the husband because they are dependent and scared that they will hurt them. True that this is more excuse to empathize with the wife but not all people have the strength to stand up against someone about to do wrong most especially if it is rooted in their culture.

On the other hand, if she is just making up that excuse to avoid being charged and is really an accomplice, then I want her to rot in prison.

Every day the updates for this story continue to amaze me and confuses me even more. Why didn't the wife report him? Why was he allowed to buy guns when he was questioned by the FBI multiple times? Why did he call 911 and confess to working for ISIS? Why was he on gay apps and hanging out at the gay clubs/had drag queens as friends but somehow found "two men kissing" troublesome? Why are we getting more questions than answers?

Because he was only questioned, not charged, not arrested. They didn't find any evidence that would allow them to prevent it. It's reported he may even have had special security clearances due to his job with G4S. In America owning a gun is a constitutional right (DC v. Heller, 2008). You can't take away constitutional rights without due process.
