FGGrayson 9,670
The type of gun used is the same legally obtainable weapon used in the Newtown massacre, the Colorado theater shooting, and the San Bernadino shooting, in which 14 people were killed. The gunman purchased two guns — a handgun and a “long gun” — approximately a week before the shooting, according to the ATF. Despite being questioned by the FBI twice in 2013 for suspected terrorist ties, then again in 2014, Mateen was still able to obtain the guns legally. FATCAT 60,888
The major weapon, the AR-15 like weapon he used to kill so many, is still under question. They don't know how he got it. This kitten over here (meow)

MJHolland 12,725
Just because he was investigated and never charged he should have less constitutional rights? If they didn't want him purchasing guns, they should've tried and convicted him. As it stands today owning a gun is a constitutional right that can't be taken away just because the FBI investigated you. Can we not make this about guns though? This is nothing to do about guns. Do you really think this suicidal man commiting the act of mass murder in the name of Islam wouldn't just make a homemade bomb for 20 bucks? The problem is a religion and culture of hate and violence. Look at any Muslim nation on earth and look at their human rights and gay rights violations and you will not be surprised that a Muslim made committed that awful atrocity. Michel Najem 316
As much as i hate these gun laws, i think a person wanting to harm people will always find many ways to hurt them. That disgusting terrorist could've done the attack with another type of weapons. Homemade bomb recipes are easy to access on the internet per example. And i dont think getting a gun illegally is that hard either.

He was suspected of having terrorist ties 3 times... not once, or even twice but three times within the course of 2 years. Were the charges dropped? Was it a coincidence, were they just wrong 3 times? It seems unlikely that individuals get suspected of having ties to terrorist organizations multiple times Not trying to feed into the whole "He's a proxy of ISIS!" propaganda or anything, Im just thinking out loud in text. I can't reasonably say that this is enough of a reason of them to be like "Hey, you can't own guns ever again, just in case" and I honestly don't know what reason would be enough other than the whole, convicted of something like that thing. It seems very black and white, which is troubling. People often talk about gun reform and keeping guns out of the "wrong hands", and I'm actually all for that, but the average person probably knows little about the intricacies of even this process and how much grey is involved in it. 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから
