Remember when Elton John said he wanted Gaga to have her own Tapestry?

When he said he was working with Lady Gaga to write some songs:

“I think she’s a great writer. For me, she is Stefani Germanotta and I love her and care about her,” he clarified. “She’s the godmother to my two children. I want her to make a simple, fabulous, great song record. Maybe like [Carole King’s] Tapestry, but her version of Tapestry. I heard two of the songs. They’re not complex arrangements, but they’re great songs. It’s all about the song.”

Maybe already in 2014 we had a hint of what some songs will sound like on LG5?

I always took this to mean he wanted her to make an album like Tapestry, not that she was. But of course she is still working on it, and Elton's words and collaborating with him could have inspired her to go down this route. Mark has said she's going down the authentic songwriter route.

I never liked the Tapestry album. It's just not my taste. Gaga can write way better songs than Carole King in my opinion. I want Lady Gaga to make a Lady Gaga album. I do wish one day Gaga will release an album similar to Jagged Little Pill though but with her own twist of course.
