Banks was scheduled to perform at Hackney’s Born & Bred festival in June but was subsequently dropped by Rinse FM for her offensive tweets. Now, according to the Metro, the Home Office is looking into Banks after spending last night (may 11) “studying” her tweets. Although it doesn’t comment on individual cases, the Home Office said: “Coming to the UK is a privilege, and we expect those who come here to respect our shared values. As reported, Banks fired racial insults at Zayn Malik after she perceived that the former One Direction member had copied her work in his new music video. She also turned on 14 year-old Disney star Skai Jackson when she tweeted about the insults. The tweets have since been deleted. Banks was subsequently removed from a headline set at London's Born & Bred Festival. The event takes place next month (June) with organisers saying they "celebrate inclusivity and equality" and would not tolerate Banks' language. The Metro now reports that the Home Office is considering Banks' actions and whether she should be allowed to enter the UK in the future. Pressed by NME for a comment, the Home Office neither confirmed nor denied the reports, saying that it does not comment on individual cases. In a statement issued to NME, the Home Office has said: "Coming to the UK is a privilege, and we expect those who come here to respect our shared values.
