"Hello" Leaves Hot 100.

After being on the charts for 26 weeks, Adele's "Hello" has left the Billboard Hot 100. The song premiered and stayed at #1 for 10 weeks and stayed in the Top 10 for 18 weeks all together. But then, the song quickly began to decline. "Hello" became Adele's shortest charting #1 hit on the chart. "Rolling in the Deep" stayed on the chart for 65 weeks, while "Someone Like You" stayed for 39 and "Set Fire to the Rain" stayed for 43. Longevity is just as important to a song's overall success as peak is. Leaving the chart in 26 weeks certainly isn't a bad thing for a regular song, that's a certified hit. But this was the lead single to Adele's highly anticipated album.

So it got me scratching my head a bit. Why did the song leave so quickly compared to her other hits? Did the song have so much power in the beginning (far exceeding that of her last hits) that it ran out of gas? Or did people start to lose interest in Adele? "When We Were Young" already came and went, spending 20 weeks on the chart, peaking at #14 and only spending 3 of those weeks in the Top 20.

It is ironic it leaves the week Beyonce's album debuts

What do you guys think?

You know what that means? Hurricane Adele has finally subsided so that the rest of the pop world can come out of hiding. :derpga: x

The song was an INSTANT smash. It didnt took a couple of weeks to grow on radio and climb the hot 100, thats why in my opinion

Dangerous Man

It just went recurrent. If a song left top 25 after 25 weeks from charting, the song automatically left the chart and go recurrent. If it wasn't for Bey and Prince spamming the charts and this stupid rule, it would have still be on hot 100.
