I don't care about music, I care about her fame, I want to everyone love her again. For me it's the bling. Gaga be relevant and dominate the world again. Listen to this article, it's perfectly written, with 0 lies. You need to go with mainstream.

No lies, that's for sure. Just many, many misguided criticisms and suggestions.

Great melodies and hooks, and a ****ing heart. Those three things and she's got a shot. It needs to connect.

Rename the article '7 things Lady Gaga needs to do to make pop music even more boring'.

Predictable formulas, consistent outfits and mainstream songs do not make a legend. This article is so patronising. I agree with some of it, but it was clearly written by a little manager who can't accept that the TFM Gaga is a distant memory. She can do whatever the fvck she wants, and you know what, I will respect her so much more if she continues to rip up the rule book.

:applause:

The way they approached the 7 things was so...misguided?

I get where they're coming from and within each suggestion there is an aspect that is totally true, but they're so focused on chart success that they miss the point of being a ****ing artist.

1. All Killer, No Filler - totally legitimate. But also subjective, and let's be honest all of Gaga's albums technically had 'filler' tracks.
2. Stop trying to reinvent the wheel - Should be "use pop formulas to your advantage."
3. And on that note, embrace the mainstream - Screw everything about this one. The issue isn't being too experimental, it's claiming 'experimental' then not following through. Making something that sounds kinda different isn't the same as being experimental- that was ARTPOP's real issue regarding experimental/mainstream- it didn't know which it was.
4. Deliver on the promises you make - I'm in total agreement on this one.
5. A consistent album campaign - and more specifically, look - They focus on it from a marketing standpoint, but in reality it needs to be addressed as a way to get Gaga's ideas expressed in a way that allows listeners/viewers to know what she's trying to convey, not as a way to make sales.
6. The return of unforgettable videos - YES HUNTY.
7. For her to come out of her arse - That's funny, because Gaga has been serious about her work her entire ****ing career. I agree the music should speak for itself- Gaga is a creative person with a ton of talent, and her music itself doesn't directly express what's beneath it all, but instead of discouraging Gaga from being deep, we should instead make the suggestion be "Make your creativity apparent in the music itself" without taking away Gaga's depth in the process.

I'm sorry but what? :duck:

Gaga is not just another pop star. She's an artist first and foremost. Also, she will write her songs however she pleases and also attach as many messages to her work of art as she wants to. That is exactly what makes her so incredible. :flutter:

You can feel the bias of the author just by reading their article and I hope that they remember this particular Gaga quote and accept that The Fame days are over: "when people think they know what Lady Gaga is, I want to show them that they don't."

THANK YOU. Especially with the last quote from Gaga. People have become so comfortable lately acting like they know what she should do and trying to analyze what they think they know about her, but in reality she's aware that she's in charge of what she puts out into the world, not us, and not some Little Manager "Journalist."

I absolutely HATE when people say **** like this. It's basically that "shut up and sing!" type of mentality that people have about popstars - but mostly female artists of any sort. This also implies she should have no ambition, no self-assurance, just let the happy pop tunes happen and have no opinion about it, and infer no real meaning at all.

I also find it funny that on one hand we used to have people who said Gaga was just another airhead popstar whose music lacked depth, and on the other hand we have people saying Gaga needs to stop being so serious and stop applying meaning to everything.

How can someone be mindless AND overly thoughtful? She really is every icon. :green:

It's such a narrow view of how female artists should present themselves and their work. I mean, sometimes Gaga's explanations puzzle me, but I love that she explains why she did something (like that segment she did on Sirius XM that explained each track on ARTPOP). Even if she might come off pretentious to some, her points are often interesting and thought provoking. It's like these people would rather have a Jennifer Lawrence type who sits around and talks about her favorite food & her farts. Or just only sing about partying, sex, and relationships in a very conventional way.

Great point. I like Jennifer Lawrence, but you bring up a good point- when a female artist talks about pizza and farting, she gets a ton of respect for being "real," but when a female artist thinks deeply about their work they are pretentious?

It's like a woman needs to be aware of herself enough to not be a priss, but not so aware that she's talking about the meaning of art while sharing a pizza with you.

The entire thing is literally just an extended ARTPOP dragging. Cringe worthy.

And the fanbase takes it surprisingly hard, when there is so much more coming. When she comes back with LG5 and articles are written about her, every single article is going to mention how she is coming back from a failed era. Literally all of them. The artist's last era is always referenced when making a comeback to the mainstream, and not many are going to write nice words about ARTPOP.

Article by Huffington Post UK:

2. Stop trying to reinvent the wheel

she's become obsessed with ripping up the rule book, and music has become the biggest casualty.

3. And on that note, embrace the mainstream

she soon learned that experimental doesn't always translate to mass audiences.

4. Deliver on the promises you make

2. Actually, music has become the biggest beneficiary.  Why has Gaga been compared to Picasso?  It's because artists rip up the rule books.  Imagine if someone told Picasso he shouldn't paint the way he does because people might not understand it, they might not purchase it.

3. Sorry, but Gaga is experimental and very creative.   Why would anyone want to change who she is, how she thinks, how she creates, for the sake of mass audiences.  Gaga will never be a basic artist, it's not who she is.  She will do her best to market her music, but will not water it down.

4.  Maybe this time management and label will allow her to deliver on her stated plans.

Sorry, but there is too much ignorance of artistic integrity in this article.  Gaga looks at herself as an artist, not a commodity.  She will follow her creative vision wherever it takes her.

It's really amazing how people buy into the commercial marketing BS of the pop industry. Fans arguing about sales and numbers and chart positions and "relevance" blows my mind. Get a ****ing independent opinion not dependent on how many other people think Gaga is cool.

They let anyone write for the blog section of Huffpost. This article is as "legit" as someone writing some opinion essay here. This article, if you can even call it that, shouldn't even be in News. This opinion blog is like those random articles on The Examiner.

Of course, we have the little whiners and managers here thinking if is a legitimate or valid opinion article. :smh:
