StarstruckIllusion 52,735
It's such a blessing The Fame Gaga is still so remembered to this day, but… If you talk about Gaga to the average person, they always automatically think of 2009 Gaga. I don't get it, like where did she **** up... Telephone and after? You want one example of this phenomenon bc you think I'm dead wrong? Before the NFL interview for the Super Bowl, one of the anchormen was talking about Gaga, and he started singing Bad Romance… after he said he was big fan of Gaga. Wtf? Sing Applause then at least… Another case of this I can recall is last year I was on periscope, and two things happened. 1, these girls were listening to Bad Romance, and were bopping so much, and it made me happy until they said "damn, what happened to this Gaga?" *sigh* And again, this guy was taking requests of songs to play on his guitar, and I suggested BR, and this viewers went from like 15 (this is normal) to like 3. Coincidence? I think not. Those are just a few examples for those who try to defy me, and I KNOW I am not the only one who experiences this. Why do you think so many people pretend Gaga's good music died after 2009? is it cause they're all homophobic and hated BTW Gaga? is being a Gaga fan today seen as a big sign of being gay? or (the most likely reason) her last two pop albums have been made for us and us only? Disscuss, gurlies.
The Child 18,997
Lmao, you're just overracting of course you'd except people to sing Bad Romance when they think of Gaga, it's her SIGNATURE song! Calm down honestly! People do remember BTW, Judas, TEOG & even Applause. ‘If religion be the cause of disunity, then irreligion is surely to be preferred.’ ‘Abdu’l-Bahá
weed 73,829
Homophobic and Bad Romance changed the world so people will associate that with Gaga right away until another changing song like Kesha Tik Tok is her thing, no one says "crazy kids singer Kesha"
Jed 7,716
It's not the publics fault they didn't like Gaga/her managements choices. Maybe we should all just accept that even if we think she's been putting out amazing work that doesn't mean it's amazing. I truly loved ARTPOP and Judas and Telephone and Alejandro (the mv) but they weren't for everyone, and that's why a lot of people don't even know some of those things exist. They didn't hear how good they were from their friends and they didn't go out of their way to look for more stuff.
kvnrp 48,353
Some of my friends are still boping to DWUW ( •_•) Her SuperBowl performance even slayed in Germany, were it aired at like 2 in the morning ( •_•) If you're fan of any Popstar you are considered Gay tbh If this post was made in 2013 or something I might agree with you some more, but 2015/2016 totally changed how the GP views Gaga. Cheap thrills 1,282
The GP really praise Gaga for what she does now 3 minutes ago, kvnrp said: Some of my friends are still boping to DWUW ( •_•) Her SuperBowl performance even slayed in Germany, were it aired at like 2 in the morning ( •_•) If you're fan of any Popstar you are considered Gay tbh If this post was made in 2013 or something I might agree with you some more, but 2015/2016 totally changed how the GP views Gaga. Haroon 49,685
Isn't it? Spoiler But on a serious note, I'd be surprised if people hadn't heard of Born This Way, I mean it was huge. I think just because Gaga was on everyone's lips even more during Bad Romance, so that stands out more for them I don't think that her last two albums were made for us, not ARTPOP anyway. Well step out your little Gaga-bubble of yours, look at the majority's opinions on Gaga's music, and maybe increase your reading skills, because I just served you three examples. I hate when I get called silly for my thoughts. Use your brain and form opinions of your own, before using any logical or illogical statements to even try and defy me, before even finishing my post. mic 1,415
Don't know what was the reason but it was clearly visible back in 2011 after the album was released that something has changed. Many people don't like to have politics shoved down their throat, it caused many controversies in the past and will in the future in case of many artists/films/games/etc. At the end of a day GP take Gaga as a product, they known her brand from TF and TFM, but when she emerged as an LGBT representative heavymetal-80s pop freak with BTW they just decided to not buy it anymore because it wasn't what they necessarily wanted (at least big chunk of them). Not a big deal, for fans BTW era was a one in a kind experience, but from general perspective a lot changed. I remember listening BTW for the first time I had meltdown thinking WTF is that she was meant to be avant garde! But being a fan a gave it second chance to ultimately like it, GP obviously didn't! So yeah that's why they kind of ignore everything she has done after TFM, AP could rebuild that, but we should send thanks to Troy for screwing that up. ARTPOP was still too artsy, and not GP friendly at all. A LOT of people felt Applause was a cry for attention. "Gimme the thing that I love!" I did too, until I got the back story, but then I again, I couldn't really relate to it because I never broke the hearts of millions of kids who adored me. I am not saying that every song she has to release must be a relatable smash, but lead singles? Yes. Yea they do. Leads are the *bang* that draws the attention to the potentially more serious stuff on the album. Also, to answer what you thought changed, I feel like she lost her ambition. It was so noticeable she wanted it so badly. She wanted to be famous, and she became famous. Then it understandably went away, but it made her badass. I think this is the element the GP can't place their finger on when they are asked why they prefer the "old Lady Gaga."
