I shook my head more times than I count. It's sad that it has come to this. It's funny you say all sides, when Bernie's campaign has only been responding to her attacks. Hillary's side is creating this shameful tone. This kitten over here (meow)
Himeros26 1,688
When the HilLiary supporters say "THEY BOTH FLIP FLOP" It's funny because HilLiary's flip flops have been CONSISTENT over the years. I'd rather have a candidate that defended LGBTQ+ people in the military, and fought for Gay Pride parades decades ago than someone who never acknowledged gays until it was cool to support gay marriage. It's nice to see how oblivious you are about your own candidate. Compare that to how well aware I am of my candidate's faults. Also Bernie's the one who started it with his drag on her super-delegates (which he now conveniently supports). Don't revise history. Then there's the fact that he allows his overzealous supporters to run wild with their aggressive attacks on Clinton, while doing nothing of significance to curb it. The truth is that at this moment, both have contributed negatively to each other's campaigns. I'm honestly worried what Hillary will say to one-up the exponentially more aggressive attack with regards to ISIS and such which were blatantly false. I hope she'll not respond, because I believe that unlike him, she realizes that all of this is providing ammunition for the GOP against the eventual nominee. But of course you don't care about that do you? Edited just now by LebaneseDude.
Dorothy Gale 7,575
Hillary only supported gay marriage when it became 100%, undeniably clear that it was the cool way to go. Bernie supported LGBT rights in some capacity for decades and has fought for HUMAN rights his entire life. Hilarity supporters need to see the light. It's hilarious how ignorant you are. First of all drop the T and the Q from LGBTQ. They have nothing to do with you're talking about. Those are recent developments that weren't a thing til very recently. If you're attempting to drag her for DADT, stop employing revisionist history to suit your needs. It's controversial whether it was a necessity or not even among gay veterans. That you think you know history while they don't is conceited. Even so, Hillary was against it, but defended it because she believed it was a defensive action that had some base to it. What's also hilarious is that you consistently fail to understand that Bernie often voted against legislation because he believed matters should be left to the states. Of course ignorant supporters choose to ignore that and correlate his decisions with his conscience. It's pitiful how easily manipulated you are. Who the hell fought for gay pride parades? Is that even a thing? If anyone fought for them it was LGBT people not politicians. Get your facts straight. Also someone in this very thread pointed out that Bernie was against gay marriage as well. Both were in favor of civil unions, which is not a homophobic stance. Hillary has supported gay rights throughout her entire career. What differed is that she actually took action to protect them where she thought it was necessary, while Bernie thought it would be better to leave them to deal with it. Honestly I'm not sure why I respond to someone who clearly lacks reading comprehension and a basic grasp of history. Honestly get out of my threads and we don't have to talk to each other. You can smother yourself in your delusion for all I care. Edited just now by LebaneseDude.

Bernie only supported gay marriage when it became the clear way to go, given that his stance that it should be left to the states was not going to win voters. It's true that Hillary didn't support marriage equality, but she wasn't fighting it. Quit revising history. In 2004, she took a stand in the Senate against a federal amendment against anti-LGBT legislation in the constitution. Her personal belief, that many her in her generation share (something you fail to understand), is hardly something you should be criticizing. You want to call your own mother a hypocrite? Odds are most mothers of out LGBT people today were at some point homophobic. Mine was. Guess what! People change! In 2006, she said she would support marriage equality if it ever came to New York via a governor or legislature. In 2008, Hillary said herself "Well, I prefer to think of it as being very positive about civil unions. You know, it’s a personal position. How we get to full equality is the debate we’re having, and I am absolutely in favor of civil unions with full equality of benefits, rights, and privileges." So it was just the word "marriage', which once again, is something people her age believes in differently. It wasn't about not letting gay people get married. It was just the institution. Fun fact: Most of the American population was against it as well. Lo and behold, there's a cultural shift among the American people. Who's an American? Hillary!!!! So yay! Let's hold it against her that she's changed along with everyone else. She should have known better! --- Oh and side note, Hillary has fought for human rights her entire career. In fact those are probably her best accomplishments. Feel free to educate yourself about her accomplishments for women and gay rights abroad. I'm not about to make a thousand line post you'll likely ignore in your goggle vision. Edited just now by LebaneseDude.

Oh please. Bernie has come at Hillary repeatedly for months with his same old same talking points. He's the one that said Hillary was unqualified, and then doubled down on his statement when questioned about it. It wasn't until the majority of the media and political world came out with a collective "WTF are you even talking about" and many of his supporters in the media and elsewhere spoke out against his statement, that he reluctantly walked that ridiculous and ignorant statement back! Bernie didn't expose anyone with the truth. He supported John Kerry for President, who voted for the Iraq War, but somehow that makes Hillary unqualified. The other two talking points he repeats over and over and over also apply to John Kerry, whom he supported. They also apply to every other Democrat to run for office in the near past, including Obama. I guess Obama wasn't "qualified" either. He also said he would never run as a Democrat, and here he is, using the party. He said he was meeting with the Pope, but the Pope will be in Greece at the time he will be speaking, or going to, his economic meeting. His misrepresentations and lies are mounting up. He won't release his tax returns. It's past time for him to do that. Wonder if there is something interesting in those? You never know.
