In the future we need pop musicians to take up the challenge of investigating the deepest truths, of getting behind transformative concepts and of making these into the things we will sing about in front of the mirror with our hair brushes." I wouldn't judge by the one quote I provided The video never claims that all pop music is intimate or heartfelt, so picking out examples of modern pop songs that don't fit that box doesn't make any sense.
