He was a strict originalist, he most certainly didn't want gays to be imprisoned.

He would have left it up to each state, and some states would have had gay sex be illegal. Whether it would be prison or a fine or nothing would be up to each state.

Are people really offended about people being happy that a Justice who has consistently worked against them is no longer among us? He's not just ANY person. He's a Supreme Court justice with a lifetime appointment as someone who ultimately decides the fate of the lives of any and all Americans.

People aren't happy that he's dead as a person. I doubt many people know how he is in his daily life. They're happy he's no longer a Justice and that someone better (more progressive) can be appointed.

Furthermore, all your defenses of him are hilariously wrong. Way to whitewash history to prove your points.

Just going to leave this here.

My condolences to his family for the loss of a beloved family member, but nobody here should be sorry for the loss of this Justice.

Nope, I'm against it. That's why his death is so concerning.

When you equate gun rights with human rights, you need to get your priorities in order.

Like what? And when I ask that question, I am talking about rights the Supreme Court would actually rule on in the coming decades. I don't think the Supreme Court will say Americans don't have the right to life or freedom of speech. If you're implying same-sex marriage is more important than the 2nd Amendment...:rip:

Gun rights and human rights are not two separate concepts.

Same-sex marriage is more important than being able to gun someone down like a crazy with your AK-47 :rip:

I guess Goosey cares more about being able to kill people than giving them rights...:flop:

And it's not silly to care more about guns than having happy people?

Yes they are. We're talking about people's lives here and their ability to function in civil society. We're talking about human needs here.

Gun are not necessary for that. They're wants. Selfish wants to defend yourself at the expense of the safety of others. I have no sympathy for anyone that wants anything bigger than a pistol for self-defense.

Neither do people freedom of speech "to function" in civil society. Just ask Russia or China!
