Out of the list, Madonna.

Regardless of if they were on the list or not, I also love the holy trinity (see above), Kylie Minogue, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Liz Phair, Kate Bush (even though she only released one album in the '90s), Fiona Apple, Cat Power, Shakira, Alanis Morissette, Dido, and Feist (her real debut was in 1999, so she counts).

I agree with @wahkeenasitka about Ani DiFranco and TORI AMOS. Ugh love love Tori, my 1st music love. And Ani is amazing.

Honestly, I don't like most of the ladies in that top 10, though I recognize there is a lot of talent there.

But out of that list, I chose Alanis.

I also loved Jewel, Fiona Apple..
